Lions elevate Jackson Meeks - Place safety Thomas on IR

This week, wideout Jackson Meeks was elevated from the practice squad. Also, safety Daniel Thomas was placed on the injured reserve list.

I find the elevation of Meeks interesting. We’re going to have a bunch of WR’s available for tomorrow.

Why do you think we would elevate Meeks?

I expected him to be on the ST unit but I’m wondering why Meeks?

I tend to wonder will the Lions try to attack CLE in the air since CLE’s weakest link is their passing defense.

Would the Lions run more 11 Personnel and try to stretch out the field to open up the run lanes?

Would adding in Meeks help them stay fresh in heavy WR sets?

Cleveland’s run defense will likely force us into more passing situations. So adding in Meeks will help us to have fresh legs later in the game.

Meeks size and physicality could help to get mismatches vs CLE in short yardage and goal line situations. If he plays that is.

I’m just wondering if the Lions feel running a heavy 12 personnel like we did vs Bal and CHI plays into CLE strength. So why not run 11 personnel and stretch them out. Force them into nickle and dime packages where we can exploit them easier.

Adding Meeks gives them more depth as insurance and allows us to stay fresh and attack more vertically.

Of course we will do that

Not because of Jackson Meeks though lol

Goff St Brown Jamo Teslaa Laporta Leaf Gibbs etc

Meeks elevated for special teams and outside WR depth that’s it.

You literally answered your own question.

Let the Meeks Era of Total Domination begin.

I’m guessing Meeks replaces vaki on KR, no?

Bodies on ST

ST has been ass

Beat Cleveland through the air, but if Meeks gets snaps, it means we lost 1 or 2 to injury.

Saylors might keep that role ?

I’m assuming Meeks at 218lb replaces Thomas who is 216lb on special teams and we just put him on IR.

I just assume he’s taking his spot

Go Meeks *

ST for sure
