Brad doin’ WORK. Both contracts very well earned by both players. That Sewell contract is going to age like fine wine once the market keeps resetting itself in higher and higher cap worlds. I still think there’s plenty of room to grow with him and he’s already elite.

Didnt he have two years left on his rookie deal? How does this work when we resign him so early?
Only because we picked up the 5th year option. But you can begin signing guys after 3 years. We could have forced him to play it out, but I think it will look very wise that we signed him early soon enough. The price is only going up.

It’s three additional years. He was already under contract for 2024, and picking up the 5th year option for 2025 was inevitable. This new contract picks up that 5th year option and also ties him up for 2026, 2027 and 2028.
Both Sewell and St Brown are under contract through 2028 now.

Best OL in the NFL, and only getting better. Sewell is a lefit HOF type talent in the class of Barry and CJ in terms of franchise ring of honor type of guys. Sooooo glad they got him locked up for the next 4 years.
The craziest thing is with his age this just might be the first of multiple “holy shit” extensions he’ll get over the life span of his career.
