Wouldn’t shock me at all if it happened.
I’d be fine with Hooker in the draft, but we still need a vet to be backup number 1 if Goff gets hurt. It will take a year for Hooker to be up and running with our offense and to be totally healthy.

Oh, Hendon Hooker? The dude that is only 3 years younger than Goff? Doesn’t make much sense to me unless he’s seriously BPA at the time.

Folks may be selling Sudfeld short.
I’m not saying he’s great, but Kyle Shanahan was willing to roll with him as his main backup when he couldn’t get a trade in place from JimmyG. If our staff decides he’s a sufficient backup, that would be two very competent regimes that have done so.
Hopefully, we never have to find out how good he is or isn’t.

I’d rather have Ryan over Sudfeld. Guess that says how I feel about Sudfeld. Even Holmes has admitted recently he has not done the backup QB position justice and needs to do better this year. Doesn’t sound like an endorsement regarding Sudfeld. I think they go QB in round 1 or 2, but only Holmes knows.
Last year only 12 starting QBs made it through the season. It’s a dice roll.

Good call! So 20 QB’s missed games, shit! And several of them missed a bunch of games.
Take the NFC West for example…
The 49ers went through 4 different QB’s (2 Broken legs, elbow surgery)
The Rams went through 4 different QB’s
Arizona went through 3 different starting QB’s and Murray tore his ACL
Geno Smith made it through the season with the Hawks
