Bates will get a camp invitation from someone. He is unable to kick on his current visits because he is injured.
When he agrees to a camp invitation it will be a non-guaranteed camp contract like every other kicker. He will have to make the team.

It would be beyond stupid to sign with Baltimore.
GB has a drafted kicker that they like, shouldn’t sign there.
I think Washington is probably the best place for Bates, but Detroit isn’t horrible.
He’ll sign somewhere.

Except Washington is outdoors. I think Detroit makes so much sense given his familiarity with the kicking environment and his performance within it.
