Getting Anzalone and hopefully Barnes back would be huge. The second level of the defense was awful against Buffalo, which isn’t surprising since it’s basically Jack trying to lead a practice squad unit. If he has even a middling performance it means the secondary has to clean up everything after the rusher/receiver has already picked up 10 yards.
Sucks on Cominsky. Usually an MCL injury isn’t so long of a recovery. He went down in July. So he’s 5 months in and still not healthy. Unfortunate. ■■■■■■■ knee injuries suck balls.
Isn’t Rakestraw eligible to come off IR, we could use him with Davis going down.
And now based on McNeil going down I had a weird thought…Could Giovanni Manu possibly play DT. At 6’7" 354 I think he should be able to crash the A or B gap and occupy the center and possibly guard. Of all the positions it may have the least responsibilities and easiest to adapt. at 6’7 he should be able to swat a pass or two. IF he has the feet to play OT he should be able to chase down a play or two. He may even be better than Bromart who looks outmanned on most snaps.
I mean highly unlikely he’d switch positions mid season. But he’d be hard to move that’s for sure. Dude is enormous. Makes 6 foot 5, 330 pound Sewell look small. I swear each leg weighs 100 pounds.
He could bat down some passes just get his hands up.

I liked Rakestraw a lot coming out of the draft. One knock on him was whether he would be durable enough and that has already reared it’s ugly head.
It’s really too bad he’s injured. With all the other injuries he could have seen significant playing time this year to truly develop with solid, real NFL playing time but without all the pressure of having to be thee guy. Wasted opportunity for him. And he might have been peaking enough to be of real value add come December like we find ourselves in right now.
Dang St Brown had quite a game for being sick.
