We need a Kerry Hyder type perormance out of UKWU this season.

Hyder transitioned to DE for us in 2016 and had 8 sacks + Gruden Grinder nomination

“…understand that 31 other teams are watching what these games are about and what’s going on in them” Dan Campbel from the article.
Our roster cuts are being snapped up quite often lately.
And the Lions have scouts watching the other 31 teams cuts as well.

UK WU-tang clan…

I think you’re on to some thing here.

You gonna leave Britain out of this pun though?

Biggest battles.
TE4 - Mitchell vs Zylstra
I think Heese is a lock because of how versatile he is, blocking, FB and special teams.

WR4+ - DPJ, Fountain, Williams, Davis.
How many and which will they keep.

I dont think there is a battle at all for OL.
If Mahogany is on NFI. Then Sorsdal, Manu, Skipp, Awosika.

OLB/ Edge 2 - Agude, Uwku, Betts,
I think Houston is safe, home grown.

DB8+ - Vildore, Dorsey, Gilmore, Brandon, Moore.
Who and how many do they keep?

Those are the 4 positions I think are up for grabs.

I do wonder about Eguakun as OL10. If he shows well – and Hooker impresses well enough to kick Nate to the practice squad – he could very well be in.

But then a lot of different spots could open up, however temporarily, depending on other rooms. If all of the WRs flop, and they keep only WR4 for insurance, that opens spots elsewhere.

I think Dorsey and Vildor have already punched their tickets. Brandon has an inside track.

The question for the last one or two (or three?!?) roster spots is going to be who they like best as football players. Does it really matter if they keep a 6th linebacker over a 5th safety? At that point it’s more about raising the floor of the team, I would think. In a sense, Ben Niemann is competing with Mitchell Agude, and CJ Moore, and Isaiah Williams.

I’m really looking forward to Saturday’s game.

Eguakun is interesting especially since he was practicing with the 1s this week. Its just a question of how many OL they keep. They rarely have kept 10 OL under Brad Holmes. Usually when they had multiple injuries. But your right if they can prove their worth over WR5 or CB10 they may do that.

But yes as of right now i can see 3 of those dbs making it (vildore, dorsey, brandon) but yea neiman is definitely on the bubble. Those last 3-4 spots on the roster are the hardest to predict because they are deep on the depth chart and usually only play special teams. So absolutely if Nieman can prove to be more valuable than another depth position he could make it.

But simply for roster battles those i highlighted are the big ones. Then the last 2-3 spots are wide open for any player than has proven themselves
