Some more information I found from Cincy Jungle (SB Nation website):
Caskey has been with the Bengals since the 2010 season, first serving as an assistant offensive line coach. He was promoted to running backs coach in the 2014 season, and he helped develop Jeremy Hill into back-to-back 1,000+ yard seasons in 2014-15. He also helped Giovani Bernard become one of the best dual-threat running backs in the NFL since 2013.
But more importantly, Caskey has helped Joe Mixon become one of the NFL’s best young running backs over the last two season. Mixon finished 2018 as the AFC’s leading rusher and Pro Football Focus’ 17th-best running back this past season.
And he comes to a team with Kerryon Johnson, Theo Riddick, and Zak Zenner!
This could be the best (coaching) hire in 30 years.
Well, Id imagine Theo is a cap casualty, and Zenner is a UFA, but yeah - the point stands.
Things appear to be taking shape.
I was just informed that the #Bengals let go of RB coach, Kyle Caskey. His players love him. I have a feeling he’ll be picked up quickly.

The Lions are doing a lot of legwork on running backs at the combine, and new RB coach Kyle Caskey is participating in interviews even though the team hasn’t officially announced the hiring.

“Kyle Caskey, Running Backs Coach: Whether it was in dealing with injury, or being tasked with making sure Jeremy Hill didn’t lose the football this year, Caskey did some great work with his group. Hill and Rex Burkhead both had 100-yard rushing performances within the group, while Giovani Bernard also had a 100-yard receiving performance in Week 2. The fact that Cincinnati finished 13th in rushing offense while experiencing injuries to both Bernard and Hill, as well as facing major offensive line issues all season is a testament to Caskey’s work.”
Bengals 2016 season awards: Coach of the Year
Sounds like another upgrade.
