Looking at this and the end of season awards, and even the press coverage of the conference championship games and Super Bowl, I get the sense that fans across the nation, and because of that the networks, love the Lions. But I don’t think the league is too enamored with our team just yet.
Maybe we as long-time fans over value the plays and successes because we have seen so much futility from our team as the norm. Perhaps the league and Vegas under value the team for the same reason.
Detroit needs to put together a string of successful seasons and hopefully a SB win. Then maybe the voting will be on the level, or at least we could expect it to be.
We’ve already seen a reduction of ticky-tacky flags against.
They need to just keep winning and then maybe we’ll see more window dressing.
