Exactly! Zero chance Borom plays Left Tackle. In fact Holmes talked at length on the podcast about Borom’s game tape at Right Tackle. Amazing these guys can write articles and do zero research. A 6th grader could be more thorough.
Let’s not get carried away now. I actually had AI throughly confused the other day because I wanted to know the 105 players on a certain D1 football team. AI was trying to tell me that there could only be 99, because there were only 99 jersey numbers. It can be pretty dumb!
But yeah, this guy did zero research so his assessment of the Lions at #3 is also kinda trashy,
To be fair, he played RT for Miami, which is the blindside tackle position for Tua. I wouldn’t say there is a non-zero chance that Borom plays LT, but it’s pretty low considering we have Penei on the roster and why would you do anything other than have the best OT in the league protecting your most important player’s backside?
Plus Borom has played his best ball at Right Tackle and sucked pretty bad at left tackle
From Brad Holmes…
“Seeing what he did at Miami, especially at right tackle—you start looking at the film, and it’s like, ‘Man, this is probably the most consistent ball that I’ve seen him play,’” Holmes said. “Then you start taking a deeper dive of him at right tackle even in the past, and you start seeing this level of consistency versus the guard spots or the left tackle spots. (I’m) not saying that he can’t play those spots, too, because he can. But that’s what kept him up there for us.”
