Not surprising at all, they are 1.5 underdogs, but GB gets the std 3 pts for being at home, then throw in the DC and OC coaching changes and being first game of season.
Actually thought it would be a little more, like 3-4 pts

Lion’s offense struggled in the first few weeks of 2024 season. I think they are expecting a bit of the same.

Alim McNeil is out. No one knows for sure how Hutchinson will be week 1. Detroit scored a pair of 4th down TD’s and a pick 6 in Green Bay last season. The Packers think they should have won that game.

Then again…We’ve won 3 straight at Lambeau. Detroit’s defense has held Green Bay to 20 points or less in those 3 meetings. Nice weather, rainy weather, frozen tundra…didn’t matter. Hutchinson wasn’t in last year’s game, he will be itching to start the season off strong. 2 of Love’s lowest QB ratings of his career have come against Detroit in Green Bay (on the flipside, he seems to do fine in Detroit).

I’m thinking that starting against Green Bay and Chicago and having a new OC, we may see our starters play a series or 2 in the last preseason game. We can’t afford to start off the season slow with our road schedule this year.

This game is huge. Packers and Lions only 2 teams with a legit chance of winning the division IMO. Short of JJ being a major surprise or Ben working miracles with Signs.

I know. Jordan was never a salary-cap-dump, fire-sale trade toss-in, so there’s that. Goff has a hot wife though…

What ever. Our season won’t be played by mouth jockies in NYC.
It’ll be played largely by the same 15-3 Lions team that we had last year.

Pretty sure that line will move in the Lions favor after camp and preseason, assuming it’s clear all is jake in DET.

I agree.

If someone is going to bet on this game you better take it now.

Why would anyone be surprised if JJ plays well? He was a great prospect, Vikings have a great offense and KOC is the QB whisperer. The Vikings are going to be a factor again.

They wouldn’t have let Darnold go for nothing if they didn’t have high expectations for J.J.

JJ had the benefit of sitting and watching Darnold run the offense at a high level last year. A full year to develop under KOC. I’m expecting him to be good.

JJ was the most pro ready QB in the draft last year. The Vikings have a hell of a roster, had a good offseason and KOC is a great HC especially when it comes to QBs. MCDC is the best HC in the division but KOC isn’t far behind. The Vikings won’t win 14 games again but they are going to have a good team in a tough NFC.

The Packers did very little this off season aside from adding WRs lol. They should have a top ten offense and a mid defense. Josh Jacobs really is a good RB.
