That has to be acknowledged as much as his accuracy and stewardship if a “fair” agreement is the goal. Brad has 2 years to find that happy point or prepare for another future.

My uninformed sense is that Brad has had some extension conversations with Amon-Ra, Sewell, Goff, McNeill and Decker. Approaching the draft he needs to have some sense of where those negotiations might go because that could influence his draft strategy. There will be plenty of time to fine tune negotiations and extend player or not before the beginning of next season.

St Brown and Goff extension talks are definitely underway. But no rush. And will get done this summer.
Sewell is gonna get hit with the 5th year option in a matter of days.
As for McNeil and Decker? They wont be done this off season. They will be mid season or end of the season extensions.
Decker we have to see if he stays healthy and wants to come back. AND they may draft a OT to replace him.
And McNeil is probably asking a lot, and lions arnt gonna dole that out unless he proves it this year. He’s done amazing for the last year and a half. But well see.
