Lions QB Matthew Stafford lists Bloomfield Township home for $6.5 million

Matthew Stafford has a great crib.

His timing sucks.

Of he does. The Fords have paid him well. He’s the highest paid Lion of all time. I just wish he could bring more wins!

His spokesperson (Kelly) had a weird explanation. They want to sell because they have a pool and live near the lake and she doesn’t want those things with a 4th child on the way. The first 3 kids it was ok, but the 4th makes it unlivable. Lol.

Wonder if this might be a sign that this is his last season here. Just a thought.

He’s the QB of the richest time in the NFL while also being drafted when there was no rookie wage scale. Money does not buy wins… His contract has not hindered the team from signing talent. They sat on $20 million last year with Stafford’s huge cap number… Who cares how much he’s made?

True, but every player is graded on their production based on their salary. Stafford hasn’t lived up to his contract, at all. It hasn’t been a disaster, like Trey Flowers, but it hasn’t been a value either.

I agree with the 20 million dollars Quinn saved for Martha. That was a complete joke. That equates to taking a dump on the chest of all Lions fans. No back up QB, no back up RB, but saved 20 million dollars for a rainy day. Gross.

Another observation is that the timing is really, really odd. In the past 10 years, there probably has not been a worse time to list a house than now. You could easily just not open the pool, and put a fence up around the yard, which doesn’t look all that big, really.

I guess if they go buy a 8 million dollar crib in Birmingham, then no need to speculate further, but with the trade rumors in the offseason, the back injuries, age, 4 kids, losing… maybe there is more to it. Not that they would actually come out and say that.

If I had to guess they had a close call. Kid gets lose and gets near the lake (for instance.). That’ll scare the bejesus out of you. I wouldn’t want a pool or body of water until my son is a bit older. The plan was for him to take swimming lessons this summer but plans and 2020 don’t mix apparently.

I think I get what she is saying. She has active kids and a pool and lake that could be a death trap. Hard enough to watch out for them now. When taking care of a baby it ups the odds of them ā€œgetting out of her viewā€ quickly. Better safe than sorry. Parenting young kids is hard. Removing as many things that add to the difficulty and danger is responsible and smart parenting. I don’t think they had kids when they bought the place. Kids change things!

Dealing with 3 kids are a lot. We have 3 kids and I make the analogy that it’s like playing defense on the power play. When you are outnumbered, it can become difficult. 4 kids all under the age of 5 would be very difficult, especially with the working hours of an NFL QB.

I raised 4 kids with a set of twins hada pond in the back yard and a lake right across the street. If anything it made my kids safer around water and being able to swim at a early age.

You have a mother who says to her husband, 4 kids around a pool and a lake, if I look around for 30 seconds I could lose track, rather not do that, how about we move?
You think, piss my wife off, maybe lose a child,or, Happy wife , happy life. You probably go with the latter. Especially, when your job requires travel and she is alone with three kids, soon to be four. Plus, we do not know what new limitations her physical problems have caused including maybe not getting water in her ears. It really is myopic to make the statements you people have in this post. But, more than myopic, rather hurtful when you think about what she has gone through.

Bet it doesn’t have a trophy room. Heard that on the radio, I laughed.

He’s being traded to GB for sure.

I’ll be curious to see how long it sits on the market and how much it actually sells for. That area is bonkers crazy with traffic and people, and living in Michigan with it’s 7 weeks of good weather a year, is not overly attractive. Lol.

maybe she saw a nicer ā€˜more fitting’ house with more benefits including keeping her children safer.

Well said yooper.

This isn’t weird at all, their older kids are prolly getting to an age where they can accidentally wander off and into trouble.

Good post. Some people like to make things out to be more complicated than they really are.
