My knowledge of the subject isn’t very firsthand - I know people who know him sort of situation - but they certainly don’t think he’s a POS. Acerbic, for sure, and pretty non-conformist. A little aloof. He’s not gonna behave the way people expect him to behave, which you can see in some of his press conferences. But from what I hear this isn’t an Aaron Rodgers situation, McDaniel’s not a dick, which you can see in his early relationship with Tua (who called Flores a dick publicly).

Again, this isn’t firsthand knowledge, I’ve never met the guy or anything, so I wouldn’t bet my life on it or anything, but that douchebag rumors don’t jibe with what I’ve heard.

I also think A LOT of coaches are assholes.

I’m very appreciative of folks that are demanding & blunt & so is my buddy

He teared up during the first press conference after Tua’s fencing response. He’s clearly empathetic.

I’ve always wondered if he might be neurodivergent.

I’m told he’s genuine, just different. And you know how people hate different. Other coaches speak really highly of him too. I don’t know, maybe some of it stems from when he had an alcohol problem.

He’s 100% opposite of genuine

Again, I’ve admitted I’m going on secondhand info and could be wrong. But do you know him personally?

I don’t understand why you can’t give up what you have heard without compromising a source. Don’t disclose who told you it of course. But as long as the observation is untethered to anyone in particular what is so problematic?

Can you imagine Dan Campbell walking past people in the hallway and not even acknowledging his own coaches? It’s actually the complete opposite, Campbell makes a point to acknowledge everyone, even the janitors.

Now picture the opposite with McDaniels, and I’m not talking about just one coach. I’m talking about more than half the staff receiving zero acknowledgment from him, ever.

Okay. So your source says he acts like he’s above his staff?

Thank you btw. Even just a little bit of color is helpful.

He isn’t getting a head coaching job that’s for sure. Mad scientist for like Johnson. DC is a head coach and all that entails is too much to OC as well. Make the move, we could do way worse!

Well, that’s sobering.

If he has HC ambitions, surely one of those teams will want to hire him.

The idea of him pulling up to Allen Park in a hilariously oversized SUV wearing sunglasses on a dark and freezing December morning to come to his second banana job is a bit of a stretch at this point.

Really think Blough would have been a perfect fit for a few years here. Oh well.

my money is on the Falcons HC job.

Ravens would be a wonderful landing spot.

I wish my boss would do this. Can I work for Mike?

This probably one of the more interesting hiring cycles to me for sure. Harbaugh to Miami and McDaniel to Ravens would be perfect lol. Glad he’s at least scheduled to meet with us.

Your numbers work for your narrative, but not in reality.

His agent would negotiate the HC net deal to be significantly clear of an OC net deal if someone wants him as an HC … because they will have leverage and owners have unlimited money.

He’s not going to leave a million dollars a year on the table, just because you think he likes Gibbs and Jamo. Sorry - if he has an HC offer, he takes it.
