His dad is black. So from a parent to compensatory pick generation standpoint he’s twice as efficient as your typical minority candidate.
Guess who coincidentally grew up without his father in the home…

Oh no … what have I done?
The power of stereotypes and the internet my friend
How times have changed. It used to be a lions coach job was a end of your career decision. Now we worry about them doing too well and losing them to a promotion too soon.
Is he formally hired yet?
With all of these HC openings it could be some time before he’d be willing to accept an OC job.
Was worried about that
he is very small…so likely in the bottom 10% of size for a male. And for the NFL likely bottom 0.5 % which should make him qualify as a minority.
I am also wondering if he needs to really appear to be interviewing for these HC jobs so he gets the fat pay from the Dolphins. Someone said as part of his contract he must pursue a job and for sure a HC at first.
I like the Lions chances here just because I doubt there are any good spots for him at the moment. He would require a unique situation. Like I could see the Raiders hiring him.
Do we have any idea what time the interview was?
Would like to either celebrate or move on ![]()
First the Rooney rule and now introducing the Kevin Hart Rule
We need to move quick. Hes also a good fit for philly and they don’t procrastinate. This may be a bidding war.
Its not going to come down to money. Whatever he gets as an OC gets offset from his Miami deal
So I think this might really come down to timing.
If MM wants to take his HC interviews the Lions might find someone they like also and just move on.
I didn’t think McDaniels would get a HC job and but 9/32 teams need a coach. I’m not sure anymore
Still yet to hear any discussion of him taking OC interviews outside of ours
That is an awful amount of positions to fill.
Even are a 50% hit rate 4-5 will suck ![]()
Has there been any news from the lions or any reporter on how the meeting went with McDaniels?
