If he has no HC offers that he wants vs just being a HC then maybe he comes to Detroit.
One comment he made in the joint practices stood out to me at the time it was made. To paraphrase he like the joint practice because of how physical Detroit was and how hard they went at it in the practices. I bring that up as I do wonder if he sees a benefit to spending a year or 2-3 under DC for growth purposes in his next HC role.
Maybe read my post. I NEVER said we shouldn’t hire him. I said my only concern was potential stability in the program. But apparently no one can have an opinion or concern. contrary to yours!!
Liam Coen was a 1st time NFL play caller for Bucs in 2024, and got a HC job after 1 season as the Tampa OC.
He replaced Dave Canales as OC for Tampa in 2024…. who was hired to be HC of the Panthers after 1 year as OC in Tampa.
OCs that perform well can get jobs without having much experience. There have been plenty of guys in recent years that got HC jobs without spending much time as an OC…
