Lions scouts take in their 5th Florida game of the season

This is somewhat concerning. Richardson isn’t very accurate and makes a lot of mistakes. Let’s hope he stays in school for another year.

I think we’re looking at LBers. There were two in that game worth drafting.

We could also be looking at DT Dexter.

Richardson made several holy sh!t throws in that game. It’s basically a Matt Stafford arm on Lamar Jackson like wheels. If he’s there with the second first rounder and we think we can fix him than it’s intriguing for sure. Extreme risk, extreme reward kind of pick. I’d rather have him than Levis tbh.

The more I think about it Dexter makes some sense. We need beef at DT and he is a big boy who’s an above average run stuffer who has shown the ability to get after the QB.

He’s raw but has big upside. He hasn’t been playing football long. He was formerly a basketball player.

Do to his lack of experience I was thinking he’d stay at Florida and possibly be a first rounder next year. However he just had a son and he’s projecting in round two mainly on his talent.

He will probably have a good combine because he’s athletic for his size. So he could sneak into late round one.

He’s definitely in play for us in early round two.

If we do go after a DT like Dexter that tells me we view McNeil as not the answer in the middle of our DL. I tend to agree with that. Maybe McNeil could slim down and play more at the 3T but I like him better as a rotational player.

Hopefully they are better linebackers than former gators Jarrad Davis and Anzalone.

Holy cow! And he didn’t even have to set his feet and really drive the ball like alot of guys would have to do to make that throw. And who was the receiver? That guy has “scratch his knees while standing straight up” arm length.

Nice dig @FreebirdPartDeux . These are the type of subtleties to pay attention to

I can see both coexisting and being useful. You put two guys like this in the middle on the goal line, or 3rd and short, and you can pretty much count on everything getting funneled around them.

On normal downs, you can have them alternate defensive series.

Trendwise, with more teams going back to run heavy offense, it could give the Lions a defensive edge in preparation

They are not looking at Richardson, he sucks at QB.

I doubt it’s Richardson that they’re spending that much time on because it’s a high probability he returns to school. He’s inconsistent and will likely return to shore up his game and improve his draft position.

Maybe but the QB class next year is much stronger. I know we say that a lot but generally it’s true. This year IS better than last year, next year is better than this year.

Next year is a lot stronger. If they all come out that is.

One things for sure. Richardson is a project at this point. Why come out knowing that…. Weak class or not?

I just don’t think we would spend that amount of resources on a project QB who may not come out.

I think it’s Dexter and the LBers they were looking at.

One of the biggest advantages the Seahawks had for years was Pete’s relationship with the prospects and the fact that he had scouted some of them since junior high school. If our scouts are only scouting the currently draftable prospects and don’t spend time on the upcoming classes…fire them now.

Of course they are scouting them all but you don’t go 5 times if you’re not looking hard at someone this year.

I’d like to see a side-by-side comparison of Dexter to MICH’s NT Mazi Smith…Mazi is a load and is running a little under the radar a little bit nationally, but moving up in teh Draft each week. With a good performance on Saturday, I expect Mazi to sneak into the bottom of the 2nd Rd, at least. He’s 6’3", 337lbs, rated #73 by Tankathon as of today…

This is what I’ve wanted!

Yup
