Lions show Jamo he's #1, by not giving him #1

Nah, sorry, both of them are having the same issue - and that’s maturity. Or lack thereof. I’m not going to spell it all out in detail, but anyone following can see these two both need to grow up. They’ve both shown issues with their maturity and decision making.

Jamo’s lack of maturity was literally on display the day he was drafted. Hell just listening to him at the draft I was wondering if Brad has really done his homework. Any chance he’s gotten in front of a mic, or on the field, we’ve all questioned his maturity. This idea that he was hiding it super well this entire time and then decided to change on draft day is pretty far fetched.

Maybe Carter will be assigned #54:rofl:

You’re saying why did they think Jamo was a culture fit while Carter wasn’t? It’s pretty simple.
Jamo, by all accounts, loves football (Saban raves about his dedication) while Carter shows up to Pro Day completely out of shape and had rumored lazy habits and also rumors of the Georgia coaches having a hard time dealing with him. We haven’t even touched on the off the the field troubles of which are well documented.

What you’re bringing up is Jamo not smiling on draft day probably because he expected to be taken before 12. If that’s a lack of maturity, well that’s subjective, but it doesn’t compare to the big laundry list of red flags that Carter had. All the stuff that happened after the draft with Jamo with the tantrum on the field in Green Bay, the social media stuff and the gambling happened post-draft. There’s no indication that Jamo had these issues in the pre-draft process.

The old Raider center Jim Otto ?

That’s interesting because after he got healthy, he couldn’t even get on the field. And when he did, they couldn’t trust him to run the right routes. And he’s got 3 times as many drops as receptions.

Sounds like the Jalen Carter of WRs to me.

Let me hire a PI to look into your past… make it all public? i bet you have done far worse then bet on a basketball game from the wrong parking lot. Such judgemental pricks on this board. Tell me specifically what you didnt like about Jamo at the draft?

Again, you’re talking about post-draft stuff. None of this was an issue pre-draft unless you’re privy to inside info that the rest of the public isn’t. I don’t even know how you can compare the two pre-draft.

I’m annoyed they didn’t give Jamo #1 if he wanted it. #9 is my favorite number though so I personally like it.

Gibbs not getting #1 and it going to a Sutton is just stupid imo. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, it’s still just annoying for some reason lol.

There it is, resorting to name calling to try and strengthen one’s position. Always a board favorite on here (already has one heart lol). You’re focusing on the act of gambling itself, I’m talking about what caused that - his lack of maturity. Cause and effect. Whether it’s not learning the playbook, not earning the trust of the coaching staff, liking tweets about getting rid of his QB, calling for Okudahs number before the guy even left the facility, throwing his arms up on the sideline after not getting the ball - it feels obvious to me the guys issue is not the act of gambling. It’s lack of maturity. Every single thing can individually be excused away if one chooses, but in totality, there are maturity red flags. At least to me.

Again if they chose to look the other way, and are now regretting it, that could be a contributing factor as to why they passed on Carter.

Gonna bow out of this thread, I know this board can be testy this time of year. The name calling and palpable frustration of you don’t think everything Lions related is unicorns and rainbows is noticeable.

You lost me on this one JD. Vets who have proven it in the league deserve priority over young pups that have proven nothing IMO

I don’t disagree lol. I just like when the skill dudes rock pimp numbers :joy:

Jamo is a returning player though…I think he should have priority over Sutton.

No, I’m part of the new generation, I’m on social media. I want it & need it now! Earn something, pssssh what’s that

#1 would represent his career total of catches, ha ha at least the corners would know.

1 is also the number of league suspensions he has so far.
He clearly has a solid claim.

Normally yes.

It may be a little message that you have to earn your way.

I know everyone loves DC/BH (myself included) but this type of mentality only lasts so long with grown men. This is the NFL…I get it, Jamo hasn’t proven anything. But they sure are pushing every single button they can with him. I personally think it’s a mistake :man_shrugging:t2:

What about him beng rumored to practicing 1/2 speed and him being off all that time and never learned the play book ? You point out anything you can on Carter but your overlooking Jamo laziness. Also couldn’t hack the competition at OS so he went Alabama.

Speaking of number 0s, if anyone wants to feel really old, Gilbert’s son is going to be in the NBA soon.
