Lions sign 3rd pick Teslaa

TeSlaa, a Hudsonville native who began his college career at Hillsdale before transferring to Arkansas, was selected 70th overall in April’s NFL Draft after the Lions dealt a handful of Day 2 picks in the 2026 draft to get him.

TeSlaa’s contract value is pre-determined by draft slot and is worth $6.6 million over four years, an average annual value of $1.7 million.

TeSlaa, who grew up a Lions fan, impressed at the team’s rookie minicamp this month.

“We threw a lot at him mentally,” Lions receivers coach Scottie Montgomery said. “I challenged him, I put him at multiple positions to see if he could handle that. Brought him along as fast as we could. He didn’t blink an eye.”

The only two remaining draft picks unsigned are first-round defensive tackle Tyleik Williams (28th overall, Ohio State) and guard Tate Ratledge (57th overall, Georgia). Detroit announced the signings of all four of its Day 3 picks on the first day of rookie minicamp earlier this month.

Teslaa should charge onto the field with his current financial power. Hopefully they realize his potential and energy.

Lions signed No. 70 overall pick Isaac TeSlaa to a four-year contract.

It was a surprise to see the Lions move up to draft a player that wasn’t expected to be drafted until late in Day 3, but the Lions like what the Lions like. The 6-foot-4 wideout is expected to contribute on special teams, but with his size and athleticism, it’s not completely out of the question that he’ll see some time in the loaded Lions’ offense.

This sounds encouraging.

I realize that most mini camp articles are written with rose-colored lenses…. but that quote is pretty bullish about his ability to learn quickly.

Ah yes, the pundits strike again. They know where Teslaa was slotted in all 32 war rooms.

Or if he gets in legal trouble

Some Judge in Delaware is probably going to invalidate the contract.

And here’s TeSlaa in the St. Brown’s podcast:

Kid is so chill. Acts like he belongs and will be working hard to max out his ceiling, whatever that turns out to be. Good to have one of us Lions fans living out his dream.

I went to school with some Teslaa so the correct pronunciation wasn’t new.

Excellent interview, I kind a want to know where ARSB took him on Saturday. Ah, you’re single that opens up a lot more possibilities…

Thanks for sharing

Isaac Tesla is IT. “A man’s got to know his limitation”, and IT has humility. They were talking TD celebrations and dancing and he noted, “But at the end of the day, I’m white.”

Glad to see IT and Amon-Ra chopping it. IT can learn a lot from St. Brown to attack his current weaknesses.

Is the inferior St Brown dumb?

“What are the chances of getting drafted by your home team?”

@Richard_Parker any comments on Notre Dame’s finest?

His hair is a little too long in the front… Party in the back for sure. But room for improvement.

St Brown brothers asked him to build his perfect receiver. Using different attributes like hands, size speed etc.
Not once did he mention Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald. These damn kids man.
First strike Isaac. (He got a nice double mentioning Megatron though)

Combine Megatron, Julio, DeSean Jackson and Cooper Kupp would make a pretty good WR though

Kid for sure… Adams is a fine route runner, but Keenan Allen is the obvious choice for me… Kupp for intelligence? The correct answer is Randy Moss… And that’s not me saying that, Belichick said it
