Lions sign Davenport

I think Holmes is conceding that with this years draft choices, we won’t be competitive for two more years.

Solid signing! Great in locker room and he will provide dept

Agreed and he’s extracted a lot of value out of his low level signings.

Speak of “corner”, I think that’s where we’ll see him make a splash if he makes a free agent/trade splash. Lots of smoke that he’s targeting some higher end corners.

We’re not going to be competitive? News to me.

Starting to get the cob webs cleared…
Saints paid an awful lot to move up and pick him in the draft.
We had just hired Bo Davis, who was Marcus’s DL coach at UTSA, but I don’t remember connecting him with the Lions too much during the draft season. We did grab Kevin Strong the next year, though. (UTSA)

We won’t beat KC. They have improved. We have regressed.

Say what?

Yep (Carlton Davis)

Who is going to beat KC? Little early to say we’ve regressed. A lot of offseason left and last I checked winning “FA” doesnt guarantee anything.

  • Good age
  • Low price due to injury
  • History with Lions personnel
  • One year prove it deal

This is the prototypical Brad Holmes free agent signing.

Pay attention people. This is the market Brad shops in, and it’s been working for us.

Definitely a 3rd down pass rusher. Historically plays in somewhere between 50 and 60 percent of the snaps.

Name one big player last year that weve lost? Please don’t say Jonah, he was hurt.

we have regressed !? news to me-and all before the draft to here in 2024…might as well not play…

I’ll be happy with this if we also sign Hunter.

Our Edge grouping right now is:
Hutch / Houston
Davenport / Betts

And our hybrid Ends, Paschal / Commish

Definitely still have room for a high draft pick, if so inclined.

I hope he is friends with Hunter and we get both

Not a fan of either moves Brad made today! But I sure hope they ball out for the Lions
