Gibbs is a bust dude
His dad carries a manpurse too
With 152 yards rushing, Gibbs knocks Barry Sanders out of 10th place.
Barry still has 3rd and 5th Place
Give Gibbs time. He’s still got 9 games to go.
It was a helluva game, and right when we needed it.
He’s on pace for 1200 yards and 6-7 TDs. That’s exactly what we needed, and if he can keep momentum, maybe hit 1300-1400 scrimmage yards-
Nicely done Mr Gibbs
But, once Montgomery gets healthy, he’s not going to get 26 carries or 30+ touches a game.
Its interesting that 4 of the top 6 rushing yard performances came with 0 TDs scored.
In 2004, Kevin Jones looked like the next big thing:
The injuries were unfortunate.
I don’t WANT him getting that type of snap volume. In fact, I have big concerns about Gibbs and LaPorta going down the stretch. We want to be playing meaningful games in late January, the rookie “wall” is just as real today as it has ever been, we need to manage the snap count on these two in particular before they get fatigued. I think we tend to forget that rookies aren’t accustomed to the NFL schedule.
I loved Kevin jones! He had a lisfranc didn’t he? And then an acl?
Man, I thought he was awesome. And today maybe those injuries don’t derail his career the same way.
I think it still would have derailed his career today. I don’t think the medical procedures have advanced at the same pace as diagnostic capabilities and imaging over the past twenty years. It was a lot to overcome then and, unfortunately, a lot to overcome today as well. He definitely had the desire though, still a shame. Sometimes all the heart and desire in the world isn’t enough to overcome your own body.
Yeah I hear ya. The lisfranc especially, that’s a really tough one to get.
Gibbs should be getting about 12 carries and 4 catches per game moving forward… That would be in line for about 255 touches… I think 200 carries and 6 catches is a viable workload
100%. I thought for sure he would break the curse of sanders.
Jah has 564 all-purpose yards and two TDs in his first half-season. Nine games to go and a shot at 1,000 all-purpose yards.
As the #2 back. I’d say he’s become exactly what they drafted him at 12 for. He is a menace every time he touches the ball.
