Our FO doing their job, chess man, not checkers
I just see a bunch of rumors. Ridder and Willis were being rumored in the first round. I do think Hooker could go 23 to Minnesota or whatever but QBs with his profile donāt typically go in the top 10.
I agree with most points but I also think in a way it gives them leverage in a trade down if one of the three QBās slide. Butā¦ there is still a better chance they draft a QB at 6 than an RB like many are suggesting.
This!!!
Many of the teams drafting to 10ā¦. Also draft top 10 in the second round donāt they?
We talk about good problems to have right? Like people are ok with drafting DE, and CB high even though we are stacked at both positions. And letting them sit, and learn. There is no position more valuable than QB.
Iāve debated Goff enough. And I wonāt do it again until next season after watching him play. I think he is a good QB, but not a great QB. I judge teams, and players by watching games. A CB can have 0 INTās, 0 pass deflections, and 0 tackles. Yes, Iām being extreme, but that just means no one throws at him. Which makes him great. A QB can have an amazing OLine, great running game, and good WRās that he can put up great stats, but he isnāt great. I also think Goff being called a top 10 QB is not a compliment. There is Mahomes, Burrow, maybe Allen, and maybe Hurtz? Maybe Stafford when healthy? Herbert, Tua, Lamar?
The thing with Goff is after a very rough beginning, and a very average start to the season, it clicked, and it works. Thereās no need to change whatās not ācurrentlyā broken. However, Goff is not great. I truthfully say with no hate that I donāt think he has much trade value. Yes, Lamar is asking for the moon, but heās very young, and has credentials like MVP up the arse. Yet, no one seems to want him.
I do not think Goff will be worth 40-50mil a season. And heāll be 30. And of course, that same old argument of āthey may not have this chance againā.
I donāt trust 2nd, or later round QBās.
There is something going on though. The regime said Goff is their starter. But have also said QB is a possibility. Usually, teams donāt go all out for back-up QBās. Unless their starter has injury history. Goff is durable. So itās a little weird that they are offering Bridgewater a āstrong dealā. Goff might be their starter ānowā.
Using one of their invites for CJ Stroud is a good thing.
The key to all of this is that the Lions do have the luxury, and ammo to do this if they want.
Of course Iām just yapping away. Itās all talk.
We are not trading up for Stroud period nor are they taking a CB or JSN at 6!!
Some posters in here are funny!!!
I always love it when you cats bring the humor.
- Bombed the S2 test (which you can prepare for)
What does this measure. Someoneās ability to get to the 2nd read if the 1st read isnāt already open by 5 yards? If so Iād say that checks out
Hopefully itās us.
I tried guys. I really did. But Iām a Buckeye at heart who wants his guy.
Give me Stroud!
Ever try drugs?
If he can be that guy from the UGA game most of the time heās the best player in the draft by a comfortable margin. Can he?
No offense but thatās a horrible plan.
Stroud will stink in the NFL just like all the other OSU QBās.
So yes, your idea is to trade your really good QB for a bad rookie QB.
So 30 is over-the-hill now for QBās? And heās not even 29 years old yet but yes, heāll be 30 in 1.5 years.
Heck early 30ās are prime age for qbs. So lets trade him away when he is entering his prime. Sounds crazy
Yes you definitely know this as a factual statement.
Oh wait, is that your Michigan fan speaking again? Because I think so.
Not that I should be talkingā¦
