Never heard that Hutch clip before, “This is for the city, this is for the Detroit”
For ages I have listened to players’ interviews, and players come and go. And I often wondered if they really appreciated the emotional investment fans have in the team. It’s been a turnstile of GMs, coaches and players at Allen Park. And I’ve heard a bit of lip service to the city, but really almost nothing. The mantra was this is about the locker room. Not the city.
This is different. This team embodies the city and they embrace it in a way we have never seen. And that bit by Hutch is really a new thing. Never heard that from a player pre-game, unless I’ve missed it.
Wonder if the players see these?
My guess is yes

Yeah, I saw a clip the other day about the coaches reminding the players who this was for. I think they know damn well what that city has been through, including the fans, and what this would mean.
