I’d really like to see Vaki get about 10 to 15 touches to see what he can do. I think he could surprise some people. I’d like to know if we actually have a #2 RB that we can count on.
I’d also like to see Rakestraw get some run on defense. If we don’t play these guys when they are healthy because we are afraid they will get hurt then they should not be on the roster. Both of these guys looked like good football players when we drafted them so lets see what they can do.

That’s been One problem with Holmes, every year he leaves one position group very weak. Last year Interior oline, this year DBs. And he trys to convince people he likes his guys at those positions. And then when it fails he dumps a bunch resources it to that position but then puts particle squad guys at another. It lime trading one hole in your roster for another, so you always have a hole somewhere and you never get that complete team

The defense isn’t good enough to hang in the playoffs, not even close.
Brad needs to make a move.
Reed plays like a borderline #2 outside corner. And even if Rakestraw continues to show, they still don’t have a true #1, just a couple of 2s at best. Adding Porter would probably only give them 3 twos, but that’s something, with the possibility that he would show some pride and try and step up and be a true pro.
If Branch comes back and can be 3/4 of what he was and Clark can focus on free safety that could be decent.
But without some upgrades, this secondary is going to make the Lions a one and done playoff team.
