They were up by 3 scores. Even elite kickers its a a low probability of making a 55 yard kick. To go up what? Still 3 scores.
If the lions were down or only up 1 score. Yea they would have kicked.

I hear ya, but isn’t that the perfect time to give your kicker a chance to kick from distance? You are up 3 scores so if he misses it, not a big deal right?
