I think it’s both. It’s a game we absolutely should have won. It wasn’t pretty but it was continuous growth. If we can stay healthy this team is going to be very difficult to beat.
The opponent we face each week are still professional athletes….
if it were easy, no one would care.
We will always have to execute our plan to win as they try to stop us.
Sometimes it’s easier and sometimes it not
This is talking to simply talk… not aluminate…
We won….
It was a sloppy victory. There is no such thing as “proof of invulnerability,” as this game aptly demonstrated by all the injuries we racked up.
NO ONE is invulnerable, what a silly title from POD (again). Of course no way Dan lets us believe that we are so I’m not worried about it, I just think it’s an asinine this-or-that option. Why not “sloppy victory or sign of winning ways?” Something like that, sheesh.
But we are very good at the little things that amount to winning, the stuff that bad teams seem to really struggle with. This is easily recognizable to us since we lived it for 50 years.
I think they played very sloppy. I am hoping the short week was part of it. But they looked more like the first game team than the second and third week team. If Cleveland had any offense at all this would have been a much different game.
This is perfectly said.
Sloppy? Against arguably one of the best defenses in the nfl?
Thats how those games look against that.
Coming off the Baltimore win i was worried about a let down.
the lions put everything they had in the Baltimore game.
Wining the way they did against the Browns proves the lions
are a very good team. expect the Bengals to play better this week.
the last two games they have been horrible but that could change being
back at home this week. Lions 27 Bengals 20
A lot of unforced errors in my opinion. Dropped passes, poor blocking or missed assignments, Penalties (although the refs did not help). They did what they had to do but they clearly did not execute as well as they did against the Ravens. This is not a complaint but what I feel is reality. Sure the Cleveland defense is responsible for some of it. But better, cleaner execution and we win that game by another 2 or 3 tds. I expect they will look cleaner this week.
This is what it’s like cheering for a goof team. I’m sure most of us will remember it from the glory days of the Wings and Pistons.
There might be some bumps on the road any given Sunday, but the good teams win the games they’re supposed to win, whatever it looks like.
Exactly! It doesn’t have to be either/or.
I think it does show that we are still the Detroit Lions, and, we’re not an easy out.
Of course, when you have two rookies on the Oline, there are going to be growing pains, but, they appear to be learning quickly how to play Detroit Lions football.
I guess the coordinators may contribute to some of the sloppiness, but, it’s not like either of them are new to the system. Just new to their larger role.
I’m not nearly as concerned as I was immediately after the Green Bay debacle.
Now, I’m glad we got our loss out of the way, and, can just play football.
I’ll take a sloppy 34-10 win every week please
Why? Bc they’re at home? I’d be shocked if the Lions don’t score 40 against that defense. They may score 20 bc the Lions are missing DBs… But their OL is terrible so Browning is going to get pressured a bunch
Didn’t read it, just the thread.
What I see is a Dan Campbell team. He emphasizes all three phases for a reason. This game is a great reflection of his vision and mantra.
I was saying at the end of the game. It’s a great sign when we can bring our C game and win 34-10 against a team with a great defense.
It’s just not going to look amazing every week but this was a very good sign, in my opinion,
This is true, good defenses affect the offense. Our defense got 3 turnovers and Leaf got a return td. A good team walked out with the win. You might say we dragged them to deep water and drowned them. Oh, our defense affected their offense too. More than theirs did ours.
We’re putting 45 on the Bengals. Cover and the over please.
They made it extra sloppy for ya!
