The point of this thread is me just talking about whats going on around the NFL so far. I’m extremely impressed with Stafford and Puka. Then i mentioned other players and teams. And if anyone else wants to chime in on their opinion of the season so far. This isn’t some Stafford hate thread with people comparing and defending Goff. Thats so weird! “Oh, he’s good because the Rams suck and he’s on his own” no thats not true. They’re contenders. Kyren is a great RB who catches passes. They have Puka who is destroying it and future HOF Devante Adams. And he’s throwing bombs to Tutu Atwell. The guy is killing it plain and simple.
Yes, I am fully aware that he has played 1 more game than everyone else, but he’s still far above. The players below him are Dak Prescott and Daniel Jones. The “best” QB’s like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are down that list. So unless someone has a career game, he’s still going to be above everyone else after sunday/monday.
What is my point? Stafford and Puka are having an amazing season so far. So is Jonathan Stewart, And a few other players I’m impressed with. Including Jack Campbell. Thats all.
I agree with a lot of this. Puka isn’t better than ARSB. Jamarr and Jettas are the clear 1 & 2 WRs currently in the nfl. But I would have a hard time putting anyone else above our boy right now.
Minor side note, I don’t think touchdowns is any indicator of who the better WR is. Calvin caught 4 TDs the year he set the record which is disgusting lol. I remember him a half a dozen times being tackled at the ~1.
It is and I was just discussing this with a buddy.
Matt loves to zone in on a single target. Yes he moves the ball around but he’s such and great passer he will throw into smaller windows and force the ball to the WR he has the most confidence in.
Puka is #1 in targets, Catches and Yards as a result. Oddly he’s just average in the TD category.
ARSB is actually better per target. He’s just not targeted as often. Which tells me he should be.
I love our team and all the players with all my heart, and would not trade them for anything. Not sure what i love more in life than Sonic and Knuckles. They have me drooling like Homer Simpson
Goff to Saint give me tears in my eyes they are something special.
But right now, in all of the NFL, I have Puka Necua as the best WR in football with Matthew elevating his game. Every QB zones in on their top WR. They’re exciting as hell to watch.
My main fantasy team i went all out on WR’s getting Puka, ARSB, and Garrett Wilson who are killing it for me.
I don’t know. I prefer a balanced offense that spreads the ball around. The chemistry between Amon and Goff is ridiculous. But I’m glad this offense, which leads the league in PPG, is so much more than just that
You’re exactly right - Stafford forces the ball to his top target. Good for that target. (He’s also throwing a ton of passes so far this year so there’s that.)
Meanwhile, ARSB gets plenty of targets, has been an All-Pro twice, and, most important, the Lions have the league’s best, highest-scoring offense over the last three years. Anyone feel confident that the Lions’ O would be better if ARSB got even more, tougher targets and Jamo/LaPorta/Gibbs/etc. got less? Not me.
This is not a Stafford vs Goff thread you baloney sausage goof. People can give credit to him a d Puka for having a great season you baloney sausage breath
You were slobbering on stats that were incomplete through week 5, Puka is having quite the season, I’ll give you that, yet in crunch time with game on the line, McVay took the ball out of both their hands, annnnnnd lost
Well you said he slobbered over Stafford and Nacua’s stats that were incomplete through week 5 right?? He did the same for Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne. His whole post was about things he sees happening around the league and seems to surprise him, like the 49ers losing all their players but yet they are leading their division. The post wasn’t just about Stafford and Nacua!
