Do we know what quarter!? I want to watch MC/DC, but not really interested in the game. Hate the Cowboys and so sick of Brady.

I’ve never watched the manning thing from start to finish before, always just kinda randomly tuned in. Though I will say at least tonight it’s all football people… a couple times I watched it was comedians or random people and it was kind of annoying because they were just talking over the game about random stuff.

I like the Manningcast but I turn it back to the regular telecast when the guests come on. Particularly when its a random guest and not a former player.

Right on. I like the idea but what was cool is they would still talk about the game… when they bring on guests and kinda stop paying attention to the game then it’s just like a talk show thing, and I don’t have the ability to focus on two different conversations/things happening at once lol. They should stick to football people

When Russ was on, they were watching the game and stayed engaged in the action. I liked that alot. When Ray Lewis was on, they were telling old football stories that were very personal to Peyton, Eli and Ray playing against eachother. I can handle those. But I am 100% with you on the other guests. They need to stop trying to make it the Jay Leno show. Thats not what people are tuning in for. I bet the metrics show them that as well. At least I hope they do.

From a football fan standpoint I agree, focus on that game! But, I bet they get good ratings when they have so called celebs on the show. When Kevin Hart was on last year, I admit it was pretty funny when he was talking about his glory days playing football in the Thailand football league. haha

I hear ya there… i think it depends a lot on who’s on. I forget who was on when I watched it the last time but it just didn’t work… though I can definitely see that working. As long as they keep the focus on the game to some extent and not just telling jokes a la late night shows

Hmm, now this has me thinking about my stance. Because I did like Bill Burr and Kevin Hart. I also liked Luke Bryan, and I had no clue who that guy was going into it. So I guess I have to amend my statement. As long as the guests are interesting or funny I can deal with it. They have had some duds, thats for sure.

Right on. I suppose it depends, and like I said I never watched consistently so I can’t speak to the broadcast as a whole over the season. Definitely depends on the guest and also the game. If the game is a blowout or just not good talk about whatever, but if there’s stuff happening the focus should be on the game

For sure and that goes for all announcers, even a legend like Madden would go off on tangents at times that had nothing to do with football, usually while Pat Summeral was falling asleep in the booth because the booze was wearing off. lol
Barry Sanders would make 5 guys miss and break a 20 yard gain. And Summerall would be like “gain of a couple for Barry Sanders on the play”

There is no regular cast, just the incessant rambling of Aikman and Buck. Which you should definitely avoid if you’ve ever had any suicidal thoughts.
