MCDC hasn’t learned

I loved it so much more in the olden days when we could focus on the draft this time of year instead of these stupid decisions to go for it on fourth down.

And they get the ball at mid field and can throw bombs for TDs

Rather than being backed up inside there 10

And we can get the ball back in Great field position

That was a dumb call but I have a way harder time defending passing on that FG to pull within one score.

I hate the draw play up the gut with Gibbs on third and fourth down worse

Down ten points, you kick the short FG.

That game was strictly on the defense. 31 points thru 3 quarters!! Atrocious

Cussing mad watching that crap.

They are keyed on him, big time. Don’t check into a run up the gut when they’re selling out with Gibbs in there …. Let the TE leak out and hit him for a first.

Nope. Put a pork chop on his neck and send him into a pack of wolves with their ears pinned back

I don’t think this needs its own topic but MCDC isn’t the only one who hasn’t learned.

I have gotten much better over the years of not being a nut case about the lions but today was crappy and took wind from my sails.

Do we have one of them?

I don’t know what the analytics say, but if they favor going for it there, the analytics are wrong. And I’m a fan of being aggresive.

Of all people, you would think that our guys wouldn’t be the type to do the same thing over and over and not adjust.

Dan is getting more desperate now. Or, maybe he’s just a one-trick pony who doesn’t understand nuance or has no situational awareness. Maybe it’s easier to coach and look smart when you have a dominating offensive line and tons of talent on that side of the ball. Once things are more equal talent-wise, the warts begin to show.

I never questioned MCDC as HC but now that he’s the OC, he sucks as a HC and OC. He hasn’t shown anything as an OC that warrants accepting his bad decision making as a HC.

He will not learn and admits it.

Some of us definitely saw a problem with it from the beginning…but you can choose to believe that or not idrc…majority of the board ignored the potential problem as they guzzled the kool-aid because it was “awesome.”

as for the league copying…nobody does it as much or as reckless as Dan does. They all know when it makes sense and when it’s just pure gambling with the game on the line. DC doesn’t know the difference.

We sure he’s upgrade?

YUP! I was bitching about it for sure. Then get a response that we haven’t stopped them all game…

So you think we are gonna stop them twice??? Because whether you kick a FG or score a TD guess what, you still Have to stop Them!

Sometimes people just talk and don’t really realize what they are saying!

He’ll keep sending Gibbs into a pile thinking he’s gonna bust another big one. Next thing you know we’re going for it on 4th down and once more, Gibbs gets smothered at the LOS. Hey Dan, if you’re going to stay fixated on a play, how about picking one that actually f****** works?!?
For a braintrust that was creaming their jeans to get Gibbs, you would think they could come up with ways to get him the ball quickly and in space. Especially, considering the OL deficiencies. But it won’t happen because, you know, “smartest man” syndrome and all.

At this point, Sheila could hand out several pink slips and I would totally get it. We have gone from Applebee’s to a Denny’s with dirty silverware. The team has been in dire straights with personnel and that is exactly when the coaching needs to be at its best. That Ravens game feels like so long ago now.

If you can only win games because you have a better roster…you need a better coach. Brad built this team into one of the most talented. Now, it’s all on Dan. These guys are professional. A lot have gotten their 2nd contracts and have matured. It’s time for the innovation to use them accordingly. Ben used them. Well…he also had the top rated OLine. But, you never felt out schemed.

Dan and Shep were out coached today. Have been most of this season. But, we’re more talented (proven talent) than most teams. We’re more talented than GB. Yet, they found our weaknesses and exploited them. Dan does nothing like that. Neither does Shep.

Dan calls plays on third down with the intent, seemingly, to go for it on 4th. I think it’s a bad strategy. Now, teams are using our methods against us. And we can’t stop them. We telegraph our plays on D and O. We need better game planners. Play calling is the result of game planning. And that is why we’re losing.

Our weaknesses are being exploited because we are easy to scheme against. And it’s showing.

Mostly what he hasn’t learned is that his Oline is no longer dominate enough to impose their will on teams on 4th and short

The Packers were running quick outs for 4 yards on 3rd or 4th and short and converting
While we were running Gibbs up the gut and getting stoned
