Good play call ≠ Good decision
MCDC has basically been making questionable decisions since he’s taken over play calling. You’re down 2 scores with 10mins left. If you dont convert, then you’re hoping for 2 more defensive stops and 2 more scoring drives. Take the gimme fg to make it a 1 score game with a full 10mins.

One thing I think gets overlooked is how much respect Shep has for the running ability of Love. Just maintain our rush lanes and don’t let him escape the pocket. Other teams don’t give him that respect and they go after him, the Browns certainly did not worry about his running ability. After the first game Shep was all about how dangerous he is as if it was Lamar. I get that Love is athletic but he is not looking to run and he is very fragile. Our defensive approach to him is different than what other teams do against him.

That is our defensive approach in general. Play the run on the way to the pass and maintain rush lane integrity. It’s not necessarily my preferred approach but I get it.
But again, if you are playing that way you have to dominate against the run. If you play that way and you’re living in 3rd and 3 then you are in trouble.
Goff did NOT throw a pass to TeSlaa on 4th down.
