Meet the new loss. Same as the old loss - NFC North Power Rankings

I am curious to see some NFL power rankings and where the Lions end up.

I had them a solid 3 with a possible 2 in the NFC. But after the beatdown Dallas put on the Giants last night and the beating SF gave Pitt, I suspect the Lions may be 4th in any National rankings for the NFC.

1- Philly
2- SF
3- Dallas
4- Lions

Mine would be:

1- Philly
2- SF
3- Lions
4- Dallas

I do think SF is loaded this year. I really hope the Lions can somehow get a playoff seed that does not force them to play both SF and Philly. Would love to get Dallas in the semifinals and let SF and Philly beat the crap out of each other. I guess that means the 1 seed…

Yeah, I agree with yours but I think we’ll see more of scenario #1. Which is fine, it’s the first week. I get it. I could even see GB creeping way up where I don’t think they belong. It’s sort of hard to gauge victories over trash teams.

Here is where I’m thinking the NFC is at right now after week 1.

I generally try to consider if a team has a new HC or QB as that can have a big impact. The way they trended at the end of last season matters.
Last year ending for reference.

#1 SF 49ers. They are healthy and powerful. Still not convinced on Purdy. They are the class of the NFC until proven otherwise.
#2 Eagles. Lost lot of key pieces but return the most important ones. Struggled in game one but should be a top 3 team again.
#3 Lions. Trend matters and beating a good team like KC as well. Still holes and cleanup need to happen. Still a gap between 1-2 and #3.
#4. Cowboys. They’ve always had a good defense and a lot of talent. I don’t trust McCarthy or Dak when it matters but they should again get a playoff spot.
#5. GB Packers. Love will become the new Kirk Cousins and destroy bad defenses but fail against good ones. Packers are built to win games but are not a top tier team.
#6. Vikings definitely trending down. They lost talent and it’s starting to show. Still good enough to win games against lesser teams.
#7 Atlanta Falcons. Their offense looked very good and multiple. Defense was mediocre against a lower Carolina team. They continue to trend upwards but lack the roster to go deep.
#8. Rams. A lot of good talent there and a coaching staff that knows how to use them. Depth is light and they can’t sustain many injuries. Expect them to push for a wild card spot.
#9. Saints. With Carr as their QB they are a big step up. Decent defense and and offense that can win. They will surprise some teams this year.
#10. New York Giants, a better team than they showed yesterday. Jones will continue to have up and down games like he did in practices against the Lions.
#11. Buccaneers Mayfield is another one you can’t trust over the season or when it matters but he is giving some life to a team with good players.
#12. Washington Commanders. Struggled against a Cardinals team that is trying to lose. Rivera may be on his way out. Only here because they won.
#13. Seattle Seahawks. I don’t think they are as bad as their loss showed. I struggled to put them between 9-13 but with losing their 2 tackles, and the way they finished the season last year, they are trending to be #3 in the NFC West and out of the playoffs for sure.
#14. Carolina Panthers. On the upswing with Young as their QB but will still take lumps this year.
#15. Arizona Cardinals. Put up more fight then I thought for a team jettisoning players.
#16. Chicago Bears. I think they will play better than they did against the packers but this atrocious performance cannot be ignored.
