Just under two months later, the Wolverines have the fifth-best odds (17-1) with Florida, Louisville, Kansas and St. John’s to cut down the nets next spring.
Let’s be honest here, this board is just a speck in the toxic universe that we call the internet.
Duke not in the top 5? ![]()
Moving past all the in-state pettiness, I will say there is nothing wrong with Umich paying what they need to in order to win. It is REQUIRED now. Basically the teams with the big donors and schools that want/can to pony up will be good. Everyone else will be minor leagues. I absolutely don’t fault Umich for working to win within the rules. This is what winning programs have to do now.
What I will say about those Spartans is there are more Spartan grads that own NBA teams than any other grads. 4 NBA owners that are Spartans is pretty impressive, not very Walmart. Yet I don’t see them elevating MSU’s recruiting payroll the way they could. One of the owners was actually on the team. It surprises me how they don’t boost MSU maximally.
Extra: for Umich it’s Ballmer and Devos. 1/5th of the NBA owners are from MI. That’s crazy.
And Ishbia now buying the controlling interest of the White Sox as well.
Plenty of alumni from both schools are owners, part-owners, pf professional sport ownership.
Lendeborg on why he is passing on the NBA this year.
“There were two things,” Lendeborg said on the podcast. “No. 1 was when I came out here on my visit, it pretty much turned everything around for me. The NBA, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can make it.’ But then when I came out here, it was like, ‘He’s promising me next year I can be better than what I was last year, higher ranking draft-wise if I come here and put the work in.’

“Two was just, I spoke to NBA teams, and the majority of them were saying that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to come back here, develop a little bit more and play at a higher level, just to see what I’m capable of doing."
What he was capable of doing was made clear at two lower levels of college hoops. After spending three years in community college, Lendeborg transferred to Division I UAB for two seasons. He averaged 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals last year to earn AAC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
=======
Lendeborg shot 52.2% from the floor last season and a respectable 35.7% on 3-pointers (which would’ve been fourth on U-M last season), yet he said that’s where he aims to improve the most.
That echoes last month’s scouting report from U-M assistant coach and general manager Kyle Church on the 6-foot-9, 235-pound prospect.
Lendeborg discussed that he felt Michigan is a place he felt where he could develop in that area, particularly in the role he’s taking over — the stretch-big that the offense can run through, a la Danny Wolf a season ago.
“(That’s) how I envision myself,” Lendeborg said. “We pretty much do the same thing. I would say (Wolf is) a better shooter than me. But just coming off the pick-and-roll with a big, it’s always a lot better, because ‘5’ men can’t really move that well. … If the opportunity for me to score is there, I have to take that."
To MSU fans here, is this accurate? Most say that MSU doesn’t pay doesn’t have the money or just won’t do it.
I never heard that before. If true he should’ve came back if he was making that much
That has to be bullshit. Cooper Flagg is rumored to have made around 5.5m. Hard to believe that wasn’t the biggest payout.
Oh, I agree I don’t believe it is accurate but I don’t follow the MSU stuff so I thought I would ask.
Plus Holloman and Booker were two highest paid players on the team last
2.81 million might be more accurate.

I was thinking the same. There is no way any coach would do that for one year deal.
2.8M makes sense. Maybe they meant 28M dimes and not dollars.
MSU has been paying players for years. How do you think they illegally obtained Kenneth Walker-it wasn’t just money either,
That’s another reason why the “but Michigan steals signals” mantra coming from them has been so disappointing (coming from a person that used to be pro MSU and Michigan simultaneously)
Dumbest post of all time. You got proof? Walker was low 3 star player in hs same in the portal.
Marty, so my post is dumbest of all time, but MSU illegally actively recruiting Kenneth Walker his 2nd game of the season at Wake while not in the portal before actively recruiting other rosters even BECAME a thing is 100% okay ![]()

I try not to make things up Marty, I worked in CFB. Used to visit with the staff in EL… the info came from inside the program. No article needed
