We do it all the time in sports⌠its okay if someone isnt good enough and honestly the fact that he was what Michigan had to rely on this year is pathetic on the part of Michigan.
I am not going to stick with and celebrate a kid because he had a good story. This isnât supposed to be easy and not everyone is supposed to be at the level that michigan believes they should be. Do you believe that Warren would have been the starter on a team like Bama?
I dont think it should be controversial to say that michigan fans expect better performance/talent level. Hell what did it say to the incumbent at MSU when they brought in Chiles? Or how about what michigan just did to mcnamara who actually won at michigan?
Its athletics and supposed to be high level competition, may not be for the faint of heart but its not personal. Maybe you are okay with the participation trophy approach to our culture these days im not particularly aligned with it and feel that competition is important beyond all else.

Quin Ewers, who i would argue is one of the better qbs in college football was recruited over with Manning⌠what are we even talking about?

Recruiting isnât the be all and end all. Tom Brady beat out Drew Henson. The odds arenât good but in the end 5 stars doesnât guarantee you anything.
And thats why college sports sucks. Underwood didnt win in nothing in HS. Good luck
Like i said, if mcnamara who won the big ten can be ushered out for jj. Texas recruits manning while they have ewers, etc.
It is the way of college football. I bet you that MSU recruits a qb despite having chiles returning. You can either choose to accept the status of college sports or no longer follow but it is the way these schools operate.
For the record not saying i am particularly fond of it but both the players and the schools operate this way nowadays.

Msu got a mid 3 star commit. Thats like apples to oranges. Cade new he was going to be number 2, but never got paid like HS. Chiles might not even stick around say as Marsh.
If MSU got Underwood for 12M I would shake my head and say college football is broken, and then watch what would likely be a couple fun seasons. I imagine itâs basically the same thing for the Wolverines. Everyone thinks itâs stupid and broken, but at least you get to watch your team win in the broken-ness.

Ya pretty much⌠i suppose i just see it for what it is and if it wasnt michigan it would be ohio state or insert other program.
These schools continue to recruit over their previous classes and the players that get recruited over often leave⌠it is what it is at this point. Might as well try and be the best in the broken system.

I wouldnât agree with broken. Itâs in transition. College football started before people had TVs. No money in it at all. Now, itâs huge money and theyâve kept it from the players for a long time in one of the biggest scams that Iâve ever witnessed. But you can only hold out so long when youâre paying the coach $10 million and the players get a free tuition. It needs to transform into a business because it is a business. Big money business. I think theyâll keep it associated to colleges because fans really like that. But please, make the classes optional. If you want to go to class, great, but if not that is ok too. The real students will appreciate not forcing anyone.
Msu nil is pretty pathetic. Unfortunately their big boys cant pay for nothing because they own 4 nba teams.
