In the last 15 hours this story seems to have flipped (unless i missed it) you have Joey Galloway calling for due process and Rece Davis/Greg Mcelroy all saying the kids shouldnt be impacted with bowl bans or anything just fine Harbaugh and the school if theyre found guilty (of course)
It is very much like the SEC from years ago, key difference there was the SEC had a commissioner that had the power and gravitas to reign in the conference.
Petitti is brand new and still learning the B1G schools and the conflicts/feuds that have existed between the individual schools for decades . Delaney had the ability to reign in the UM/OSU feud as there is little to no love between the schools and athletic departments. UM and OSU are the two biggest revenue schools for the conference, bring the most eyes to media deals etc. What I have appreciated the most in this drama is the unusual response from UM, which I contribute to Ono.
Yea, ESPN is learning they were used and drew too many conclusions early on in this story. The SEC/ESPN relationship is/was becoming part of the story with regards to how it was covered by Thamel and others early on.
I would also add the longer this story has gone on the more it is coming out how many schools do things similar. Usually lower assistants/grad assistants and they they all communicate to other schools to try and earn the next step up the ladder in the coaching ranks. I donât think many realized how much it was happening and as Spartnd referenced early on, was the gambling impact when you learn how much sharing was actually going throughout cfb.
Iâd laugh if I didnât think you were serious.
âYes, I robbed a bank to officer, but I was giving the money to charity. Thatâs completely different from rob/robbing a bank.â

They miscalculated by thinking Michigan wouldnât fight back. They thought they would hype up a charge in the media when the Big Ten refused to take up their cause. They used calculated media leaks to try and force the Big Tenâs hand. The Big Ten goes to Michigan expecting they will threaten them and Michigan would fire Harbaugh. What they didnât expect, what they didnât see coming, was Ono telling them to â â â â off. They didnât expect Michigan to fight back, and now they are getting a little scared. Too late boys. The gloves are off.

Well played sir.
I request that all posts in this thread moving forward either include a factual link, a funny meme, or gif please.
Heâs 100% right and this has been my point from day one.
What you really have here is some sore losers starting a PR campaign to try and get their biggest competitor fired by complaining about something theyâre all doing and have been doing for 40+ years.
Which is why itâs highly likely not much comes of this.
But Iâm all for firing every college coach in the big ten. Taking away all their TV revenue and making them all start over from scratch.
But I donât think you should stop there. The NCAA should investigate every college in the other conferences who were exchanging data with big ten schools and dish out the same punishment to them.
Heck why donât we just suspend every college coach and have the NCAA do a full blown investigation into every program until they can completely get to the bottom of it all. Which will likely take several years.
Sounds fair to me.
I would say to start with Michigan and give them a stiff penalty. And the ln proceed down the line and penalize each teach that did the same thing commensurate with how egregious it is. Honestly most of the teams can handle a 2-4 game suspension. If Mich had done it before MSU it would have been like the useless non B1G suspensions. MSU and Purdue were basically a bye. He would be back already and this story would be dead.
This should have been Harbaugh this week.

Harbaugh enjoys this stuff. His wife is probably getting it extra hard this week.
UM has retained Williams and Connelly to represent them in potential litigation on this issue. Supposedly a significant firm in the civil arena but I know nothing about them; thought is federal court is where this will be dealt with.
Rumor is Michigan advised the Big Ten they plan to bring legal action against them and the other schools in the big ten for their collusion. They apparently have email, text, video and phone recording evidence. Itâs believed they could go so far as to file a Rico racketeering case.
This is getting interesting⌠and I still think this all gets swept away⌠lol
Lots of money made off the backs of kids who donât see any of it. Enough to pay the coaches exorbitant salaries and the lawyers and the goons at the Big 10 too.
Please no. I want this to all come out. Forget what happens, this will be a great movie some day.
The kids see some of it now and Jim is the only coach with enough balls to speak up and say the kids deserve more. Ever since he spoke up the man has been under attack.
What I find interesting about it is that UofM is supporting Jim and willing to go to federal court for him.
Youâd think UofM would take the side of the other big 10 schools and push Jim out for his stance on it all.
After all you got to protect your pocket booksâŚ. Right?
But youâre right âŚ. They will blow millions on this and they could be giving it to the student athletes.
NIL isnât really seeing any of the money from the football game. Itâs just letting them earn some money on the side. They didnât even want to let the kids have that for obvious reasons. Itâs a starter drug.
Weâll see how much of a champion Jim is for the kids when heâs no longer part of college football. I suspect itâs like most things Harbaugh and itâs self-serving.
