This was always gonna be the story this week, the content-makers need new content and Philly is on fire. They may be better than us right now, with all of our injuries.
I think it will actually help us this week though, we do love being disrespected.
They shouldn’t even have beat the Ravens… Ravens had 120 more yards, and Tucker missed 2 field goals and an extra point. That’s 7 points right there they gifted the Eagles.
Eagles struggled to move the ball vs the Ravens D.
I think that’s more a statement about Baltimore’s offense than their defense. They basically controlled the ball the whole 3rd quarter (and got nothing to show for it). That’s an excellent strategy for slowing good offenses, they can’t put up numbers if they don’t have the ball.
But 213 of Philly’s 250 yards came on four drives, 2 in the 2nd quarter and 2 in the 4th. All scoring drives. They were a bit Jekyll and Hyde, but I don’t really think they were stopped necessarily either, they just didn’t get a lot of opportunities.
Of course that’s exactly what will cost them eventually. Other teams will punish them more severely when they go a quarter without having the ball.
Yep I watched it. Ultimately the all pro kicker blew the game. You don’t see that often. He’s really in a massive slump. What do you do? Hard to cut a future hall of famer.
THIS. It’s absolutely the injuries that separates the Lions from the Eagles. The Eagkes are better defensively at the moment because of injuries. But all things being equal I think the Lions are better. And Dan would coach circles around Sarianni. Sarianni reminds me A LOT of Schwartz!
Ravens pass defense is pathetic and Eagles still couldn’t throw the ball. Hurts is a terrible QB. He just hasn’t turned the ball over and Barkley and their defense wins games. Their D is legit and better than the Lions. But Lions WILL stop Barkley and if Lions can contain Hurts from beating them with his legs because he sure isn’t beating anyone with that arm.
As good as Barkley is I believe he is still a bit soft. It is very important for the Lions to get the 1 seed.
The Lions are the best team in football. Record shows it. All metrics show it. This offense has zero weakness. None. Best o line. Top running game. Top 5 WR. Explosive #2 WR High level QB play. High level coaching with OC Ben Johnson who has been here for multiple years.
The Lions are the most physical offense in the league. The Lions have the fastest play makers in the league. End of story.
Exactly. Right now with the present state of the team, neither us or the Chiefs are the best. I am fine with that. You don’t get titles for #1 in this week’s power rankings. We are probably going to lose a few games coming up. Once we start getting some guys back, and provided we do not lose more, we will be just fine for the playoffs.
Philly is playing great ball right now, but their team is going as far as Saquan goes. RB’s get hurt all the time, and if he does get hurt, the same weak Philly offense we saw to start the year will be back, and so will everyone demanding Siriani get fired. Philly is on a razor’s edge, but they are on the right side of it at the moment.
I think he’s a clown also but his record in the league speaks for itself. 44-19 regular season record. 2-3 in playoffs (but their Super Bowl year they got the bye so essentially a first round win). Hard to argue with the results.
While it’s fun as a Lions fan, it really matters not. Get to the playoffs, preferably as a one seed, but, get there. Then anything can happen, as we saw in San Francisco
A FEW!
If the Lions lose 3 out of the next 5 games that would constitute a full fledged collapse.
This town would be unhinged.
Losing 3 games would not only cost the Lions the #1 seed and 1st rd bye, but also the division and any home playoff games.
Lions will need at least 15-2 for #1 seed and 14-3 for division.
The Lions are capable of winning on the road but if they back in going 2-3 they would not be playing their best football and not likely to win 3 road games to get to the Super Bowl.
