It turns out the Packers went 6-2 to start the season despite themselves. They did just enough to prevail, thereby relegating the interceptions, penalties and drops to the cost of doing business , addressing them each week with locker-room speak instead of treating them as the disease they have become.

Playing this way wasn’t enough to keep the Packers from knocking off Indianapolis (4-4), Tennessee (2-6), the Los Angeles Rams (4-4), Arizona Cardinals (5-4), Houston Texans (6-3) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)

Lions played a smart “ball security” type game.
I was looking at GB’s wins during the week. I knew they have had a few close, you might say lucky wins. Including the last 2 weeks with last second field goals.
We didn’t have to run up the score to embarrass them.

One thing on the dropped passes is that GB did not seem to adjust to the rain while it seemed like Goff was keeping the balls more on the body of the receivers.

Plus Goff is so accurate to begin with.

But I do not just put this on dropped passes but it is also on Love and where he was putting the ball.

I agree with this. Some of the drops the ball wasn’t in an easy position to catch considering the weather. Goff was 11 for 11 at one point.
I thought Love was fishing for PI flags on some of his dee throws too but didn’t get them this game.

There are a number of teams, they just barely get to the water. You got to get in the water to compete. There’s a number of teams, that’s all they get to.

Then there’s a number of teams, they are in the shallows. They come in a hurry, man, and they are all over your ass. They are all over your ass and they strike and move, they strike and move. They are dangerous, man! You just gotta get a hold of them, though. If you can just get a hold of them and you start dragging their ass out into the deep, dark abyss, you can drown them.

And that’s what we gotta be, that’s who we have to be. That’s our domain. Because we will tread water as long as it takes to ■■■■■■■ bury you!

If this doesn’t fire you up you aren’t alive. I can’t believe this is who we are.

That still sticks with the players, too. A couple weeks ago there was a player who referenced “the abyss” in the tunnel on the way to the field.

Dear Packer fans, as bad as it seems, at least you aren’t stuck in a fence being laughed at by a cow.
