“While Taylor was a productive pass blocker, he struggled with penalties, committing 49 (41 accepted) in 45 games with the Chiefs, the most of any lineman during that span.”
Which was about 10% of the actual penalties he committed.
I’m sure he is nice to kids and puppies, but man I was constantly annoyed by the free pass he got.
The diehard Chiefs fans, the one who really know their business, say he was quietly excellent for them this year. I expect the league to know that as well, and I expect the contract he gets will make most fans ridicule the team signing him. Before Decker came back, I was hoping we might have been in that mix honestly, though he probably ends up being too expensive.
But, he’s going to want starter pay, and, he will be an upgrade for some teams Oline.
Not ours, though. He’s incapable of fixing his “false start/off sides” problem, and, he’s going to get called for a ton of holding penalties on any other team, too.
