Tigers MiniMize trade deadline moves.

Tigers MiniMize trade deadline moves.

Kash is a pretty good get for Mize. Likey.
Its something with detroit gms
Harris: bullpen sucks- not addressed
Yzerman- needs another player not addressed
Holmes- needs a DE hereās Marcus Davenport
Pistons- need a 2nd star next to cade. Lets play moneyball with duren and get more roleplayers
Kash deal!

Money. Kash. Hoes.

Harris reminds me of a bad rash that wont go away.
Iām not happy about no BP addition other than Ryan without a doubt.
I like two of the guys a lot: Hope and Ryan I do think he will be in the BP this summer. Has anyone heard when he is due off the DL?
I donāt know enough about the Kash kid or the Smith kid but I like the pitching development of this front office. Both of these pitchers have good profiles and growth models. Low A is more about specific development as kids come into the MiLB system from college or HS. Teams start tweaking things certain pitches, the mechanics from footwork on the mound to arm angles release points and a lot more . Not worried about ERA at the Low A level.
Most were pissed at Harris for not taking Wyatt Langford at #3 and grabbing Clark which then contributed to getting McGonigle. Langford will be a good one but it sure looks like Clark, granted premature at this point, and McGonigle will also do ok in Detroit. Langford has done well with this ability coming through, his one issue is availability to his point.
Mize had great numbers this year but always injured. It kind of sounds like we acquired guys who are injury prone. Oh well. Best of luck. ![]()
Meh, Scottās clearly just focused on the future (and Iām good with that). If his brokedick bullpen can somehow get this team to the playoffs, then thatās just a bonusā¦but imo heās pretty much waving the white flag on this season by not addressing it at this point.
Wow, a potential 3rd Starter for what would be our #3 or even #2
This team is going backwards, no BP help and we lose another starting pitcher.
We are the farm system for every good team in MLB.
By time we get a good SP and BP staff, our young skilled players will all be too expensive to keep so we will rinse and recycle this process (minus McGonigle and Clark), well I guess Colt Keith will still be here.
There is no way the way Harris operates that we get a solid SP and BP staff by 2029
When I heard that we traded with the padres I figured we at least got Morejon back in the deal.

We traded guys on expiring contracts. One who has been on the IL twice and his velocity is down. But good numbers. We got back a guy who is much younger and his velocity is down. I see no reason to feel we are going backwards. This year yes. But we havenāt traded anyone who was under contract next year, unless Workman was.
.
The Tigers have the SAME opportunity to have Skubal & Mize on the roster in 2027 as they did 4 days ago.
They werenāt winning the World Series this year with them, so why not add some assets that might help beyond October 2026?
Its a wait and see with both trades. Maybe it works great.
Mize is a 2-month rental and a guy whoās having a career platform here and even then has been on the injured reserve twice. Last year he had a pretty good year and prior to that he was either injured or below League average for 4 years. Good for him heās maximizing his ability to get paid next time around and he probably will but for 2 months of a guy like that youāre not going to get a giant return. I didnāt see what the Nationals got for foster Griffin but I bet itās pretty similar same kind of guy except heās 31.
There were a ton of starting pitchers available at this trade deadline I havenāt counted how many have moved yet but I think itās close to 12. So there was no real scarcity with Casey either
Added Tigers, posted from phone originally and missed it wasnt there.. @Pdono
