I m a little worried about WLB right with them you listed.
Yeah that late 4 for DMONT would be excellent to trade for a 2027 3rd
or for Thibby
I think that would check all the boxes for us
How much did we give up to move up
118 , 27 4th
I went the other way with trades.
Traded up for WLB Stylez. Got the LT.
Then day 3 I traded away picks for future picks.
We got an extra 3rd and 4th next year + comp picks .
Can traded a 2027 3rd for Thibby. Sign Cam Jordan.
I’d be happy as hell with that.
We gotta do the opposite of what we did in 24 for Manu & Vaki.
Weaponize them 4ths for the future.
OR
Weaponize them for an OT
You like your Hoosiers lol.
That said I like Ponds, Fisher and Black quite a bit too. Stephen Daley is worth a shot too since he’ll basically be free. Not as high on Moore, Kamara, Sarratt, or Cooper now that his stock’s exploded. I’m about right with consensus on Coogan.
Can we draft their defensive coordinator?
which simulator is the one where you can draft with other people?
Day 3 going chalk from the championship team
Moore late 6 early 7 I’m good with that . The Dan Jackson range
I don’t know much about a few of those guys was looking forward to your write up ! Where did it go?
Michael Taffe & Aiden Fisher I really liked these two dudes, and it seems like you and many others on here do as well. That’s a good sign.
If we can get a WLB & Safety depth Day 3 I’d be estatic with that.
What’s the scoop on Kage Casey compared to these other T’s that are going in that tier
That deep dive doesn’t come until after Dane releases the Beast here in a few weeks. It’s generally the last thing I do. And hey, the Seahawks starting center was on it two years ago, they picked him up as a UDFA.
I actually am probably not as high on Taafe as others, though I’m fine with him. Right in line with consensus, but some people are really high. But in this mock the pickings at safety were getting slim and that was right around where I like him so I pulled the trigger. I actually prefer RSJ for the value I got, wouldn’t be surprised if he made the team over him.
On Casey, I’ll do it in the same format I used on my big offensive tackle post.
The case for: Long-time starter, captain, maybe the smartest OL in the draft, you are not fooling him with any shenanigans. As you’d expect, great technique, good footwork, controlled. Plays the position with a nasty streak, lots of pop behind his hands and in his base, drives defenders off the ball and sometimes off the screen. Flexible at the POA, gets to the second level quickly and knows his assignments, has OG versatility.
The case against: Not the longest guy, there are some who think he’s guard only (I think he can stick at tackle personally, but there are undoubtedly length limitations), only an average athlete and a little stiff laterally, change of direction isn’t great. Will get beat inside from setting too deep, can get juked in space due to the inability to change direction.
Summary: Pretty typical of mid-round OL, they’re usually really strong in one area but questionable in another. For Casey he’s strong, smart and technical, but the traits are a question mark. The question is whether you think he meets a baseline to overcome them, and I think he does… at least at this point in the draft I’m comfortable making that bet. Some won’t be.
I was really torn between him and JC Davis and honestly, usually take Davis, but this time I decided to switch it up.
Here’s one you will love to hate.
Next, we move up twice in round 1
Get Freeling LT
Then Downs S.
We have given away next years 1 and next years 3…and both our 4ths and 5ths.
But we have pick #68 from Eagles to multiple trade down, recoup some ammo and still getting Kyle Louis.
2027 Draft picks = 2,4,5,5,6,6,7,7
Can use 2028 draft picks for 2027 as we will get a comp 3rd from Thibby
Well I love a lot of the players you picked (though I’m shocked any were available that late, especially Downs). You know what I think about Perkins, and Corleone, while fine, is too superfluous with Tyleik and Alim. If we’re going DT I’d rather have a 3T. I love Gulbin that late, but Reiger is pretty much the most star-crossed prospect injury-wise I’ve ever seen. I heard somewhere he missed like 4 whole seasons? That late it’s whatever, but I bet he goes undrafted despite pretty clear NFL skills.
But as you said, I would hate this draft overall. Cannot give up that much 2027 capital! It’s prisoner of the moment stuff, next year you will love the guys we could take more than you do the guys you’re trading for this year, I promise.
Would feel great having Freeling, Downs and Thibby though.
Oh I would too right now, but I’d hate to miss out on Jeremiah Smith or Leonard Moore or someone like that if Goff goes down.
