He got Kyle Brandt’s angry run award this morning on GMFB. Kyle said Walker III had it locked up and then all of sudden here came Montgomery.
Apparently second time this month a Lion RB won the award, not sure if it was Gibbs or Montgomery the first time.

It was Montgomery for the first OT run where he broke like 6 tackles.

He wasnt valued in chicago because their oline is and has been terrible. Monty took his abilities to a new level but it helps when he can get a few runs were he gets 3 plus yards before contact.
Without a doubt, I’ve been saying this for 1+ seasons now. He’s an absolute beast, has some of that Marshawn Lynch “beast mode” in him, like a slightly less explosive Marshawn.
Crazy that some were lamenting the loss of Jamaal when Monty was signed. I knew right away that he was a big upgrade, he was always a big problem against the Bear Cubs.

I’d say Monty was the Lions MVP / Top performer in Q1 of the 2024 season.
Every game he did something above and beyond.

He’s not underrated any more.
He WAS underrated, including by some on this board, when his quality was obscured by playing on a bad team behind a mediocre OL.
