Whatever…
Better than what’s on the roster though?
Maybe he believes he’s such an elite college scouting director, that he doesn’t need to utilize resources anywhere else?
I was wrong- I wanted Justin Simmons badly at safety… I wanted to keep Branch at NB
Branch and Kerby are two of the top 5 safeties in the league, both under 24 years old… both drafted here.
C Davis and Arnold will be fine and Robertson and Rake are nice depth…
Glad we didn’t force a north of 30 safety out there at 10M per…
To be fair… that 3rd could easily become Z Smith and likely bring back a 5th- do I believe Brad drafting an OL in round 5, and having Z Smith the rest of this year and next to be better than Manu? Yes.
Could Manu profile as an OT replacement potentially? Sure. Is it likely in the next 1.5 years? Not really.
We shall see
LOL - Out of likes. I decided to hit this one with the six month ‘ignore’.
Say yes to more peace in your life.
If smith can really be had for so cheap, why not get both him and maxx?
My guess is we could use a 3rd rounder to get us a starter at ANY position we need. Will Manu be playing anytime in the next 3 years?
Do we only have one third rounder to negotiate with?
Article is confusing. The lead in reads: ’ Lions trade proposal would bring $23 million edge rusher to Detroit’. Nowhere in the article is that mentioned. This is mentioned though: ‘It’ll be interesting to see what Smith’s trade value is. He’s on a veteran minimum salary with no guarantees past this season,’
Pretty sure Brad Holmes won an award for being the best GM last year. Sometimes not signing a FA is the best thing you can do. The Lions are a SB contender in year 4 of Holmes arriving, coming off two home playoff wins and NFC Championship appearance.
Healthy Cap and widely considered to have the top 1 or 2 rosters in the NFL.
Please tell me a GM who has done a better job the last 3 years.
Are you really a lions fan?
Oh yea, ■■■■ the Vikings.
Sadly this is an opinion
We definitely do not have enough performance data.
I am not a fan of getting rid of Hooker. If they must then they must. But he knows the play book. The full playbook. Which is likely not available with someone off the street. But maybe someone on the PS has made the coaches believe they have a viable option as a backup.
I think it’s most likely that he stays. I think they like him. Look @ how good they are to their own, and how they treat their own draft picks.
One of the guys was saying that Holmes knows Hook’s family and they have ties there.
You’ve had a lot of dumb takes but this might be the dumbest one of all. Congrats on winning the Dumb Takes Olympics.
I just realized that Crosby has 2 years left on his deal after this one so it would be 3 playoff runs with him and his contract expires when Hutch’s new one kicks in.
I actually thought it was only 1 year after this one so 2 playoff runs. I think I might be more willing to give up the multiple late 1sts now, 3 playoff runs is pretty much a lifetime in an NFL timeline.
Not that I think this is realistic at all but I can see it being slightly more realistic for Holmes to be interested (if Crosby is available at all) knowing that there is some extra term on the deal and how it lines up with the Hutch contract.
The ignore button felt so nice to push with this one
Raiders play KC this week fyi. Still a loss for them. The bye woud have been closer game for sure.
Raiders bye is just after the trade deadline
