Personally I say MLB should go to 2 divisions in each Conference like NBA is going to and NHL went to. But oh well. 4 divisions each it is.
So either way sounds like the team are 1 in the east 1 in the west.
East: Nashville or Charlotte
West: Salt Lake or Portland
Without teams changing leagues. This is the most logical alignment
Now as a compromise, similar to the NBA, MLB said reducing the regular season might happen. Not much tho. 156 games.
Division- 4 series (2H2A) of 3 games
League- 2 series H/A of 3 games
Inter League- 1 series of 3 games
Playoffs 4 division champs. 2 wild card in each league. Top 2 division winners get byes.
NBA. Sounds like all but a lock that it will be Vegas and Seattle
And 2 divisions in each Conference
So alignment by Time Zone
With Minnesota joining the East.
Playoff format remains unchanged.
Regular season reducing to 76 games. To eliminate back to back games. And reduce “load management”
Division- 4 games
Conference - 2 games
Cross Con - 2 games
Its crazy that MLB & NBA are heavily considering reducing its regular season
While the NFL & NHL are expanding the season
I think I’d swap ORL and MIA for CLE, DET in your NBA divisions. I hate when things don’t make logical sense. Orlando (almost) and Miami being located directly on the Atlantic and not playing in the Atlantic division would drive me nuts. haha

Fine. Eastern division lol.
But i debated that. But gotta keep Miami Orlando and Atlanta together.
And then you would have to add in Toronto. Then Charolette is all by itself. Just didnt look good on a map
You gotta be AI at this point
No one has that much time

Its called riding around in a truck as a passenger all day for reading gas meters. Slowest easiest day of the month
1/4 of the NBA teamsalready tank over the final 15-20 games of the season…. so adding more teams would only result in MORE crappy teams tanking.
I don’t think that would be great for the fans, and maybe not the owners either.

I remember the two division era prefer this to that
Bottom 2 teams have to work at Jack In The Box for the next season. Coaches, ballboys, trainers, announcers, whole deal.
Why is would Miami and Orlando be in the Central and Detroit on the East??
Again to keep them with Atlanta.
Cleveland and Detroit are VERY close to Orlando and Miami in terms of east and west.
So a that point it became about keeping miami orlando and Atlanta together.
Theres no way to switch them without leaving one team all by itself stranded. Or having 6 teams tight together and 2 teams all alone.
Rather keep the map clean and none of the divisions overlaping
That’s makes absolutely ZERO SENSE

See how theres no cut off ? The divisions are nice and clean. Close to time zones. Switching detroit and Cleveland with miami and orlando would be strange with atlanta and charlotte in the east and orlando and miami in the central.
You could swap Detroit/Toronto/Cleveland with Charlotte/Orlando/Miami. Keeps all the Northern cities together, with only Atlanta as an outlier. All the East coast teams would be on the East coast.

I hear ya. I debated it. I just wanted to keep those 4 in the south together.
And i ignored “coast” because orlando is just as east as Cleveland is.
And then your leaving either atlanta or charolette by it self. With its 2 closest teams in the other division.
See Atlanta just looks so lonely lol
â– â– â– â– Atlanta, give Detroit the better travel schedule.

Thats the other secret reason for keeping Detroit in the east.
No florida trips. No Atlanta. Furtherest trips. Boston and washington.
600 & 400 miles respectively
Atlanta is 600 miles. Orlando almost 1000. Miami almost 1200!

Who cares about the miles for the trips.
It’s a charter, irrelevant

I think that’s the problem…YOU WANTED TO KEEP THEM CLOSE. Orlando is not as east as Cleveland is because Cleveland IS NOT EAST! It’s Central/Midwest…Orlando is Southeast. The NBA would never do what it is that YOU WANT THEM TO DO!
