New 4 Round Mock on NFL.com

I think it’s kinda meh. What say you?

I would love this draft personally

I like it except in the 4th.

I’m meh as well. I think it’s a solid draft I don’t think it helps Goff.

We know pressure is an issue for him. The right side of our Oline does little for me. We wait and take Moore who I like, but his size and injury history is problematic. I know we brought in Williams, but Swift was injured last yr, and KJ looks like a shell of his rookie yr and at this point feels like a injury waiting to happen.

I can’t help but think Goff should be the number 1 thing this yr. Give him all the pieces he needs to succeed. Apparently his confidence was shook, help him get it back, and be sure going into 22 if he is our guy or do we need a new QB.

I really want him to succeed, don’t want to burn multiple picks moving up for a QB So I’ve grudgingly come around to a offense oriented draft. IMO knowing if Goff is the future trumps all

A better D means the O has to score less and is going to get more chances to do it.

I totally agree with that, but if Goff isn’t comfortable and doesn’t have the pieces around him on offense, you don’t get the best of Goff and your still trying to figure out if he’s our guy or not.

I’m a D guy, been screaming about horrible schemes and bad personell fits since 15. I’m dying to see a aggressive in your face attacking D. However, at this point, I think we have to know if Goff is the future or are we packaging multiple 1sts to move up and get one

I’m really not worried about Goff. The team is IN on him for a few years. If he doesn’t look spectacular this year, I’m ok with that. This is retooling off of the worst coaching staff in nfl history imo. Everyone locked in this year, gets a pass. See what we’ve got, but Goff actually isn’t under the microscope. He’s done it, been there… got way further than our hero Matt. This staff knows Goff… he’ll be fine… everyone should take a chill pill… don’t panic if it doesn’t look great in 2021… it might take a year for brad and co, to clear the stench of quinntricia.

I don’t know anything about those DBs so it’s hard to have a strong opinion on them. But with some of the names still available at those picks, not the direction I would have gone. Other three picks are all players with a ton of upside so I’m not going to complain.

I like it. I’m fine with Mond in round 4 though I don’t think he’s there in round 4. I also doubt either of those round 3 picks will be available at that stage.

Crazy Trade Idea…But not BEYOND the realm of impossibility

Lions trade #7 to da Fins for #18, #50, #81, #156…The value is almost equal (Drafttek). Lions would then have:

  1. (1) 1st Rounder ----- #18
  2. (2) 2nd Rounders — #41, #50
  3. (3) 3rd Rounders ---- #72, #81, #102
  4. (1) 4th Rounder ----- #112
  5. (2) 5th Rounders ----#153, #156

Total 9 Picks with potential for more…especially inviting would be trading down from #41 to around #51, and acquiring an extra mid 3rd, as well…

I really like this draft. I might go Guard instead of Mond but I’m all in on the first 3 picks

So the picks were:

Parsons
Samuel
Rondale Moore
Jamar Johnson
Kellen Mond

I’d be pretty happy overall. Parsons makes me nervous but I can’t deny his talent, and I love Samuel and Johnson, and I really like Moore. The Mond pick is a shrug but I can see his upside.

That’s my take exactly. Mond is meh for me but I don’t think he makes it that far anyways. Some QB coach will be pounding the table for him in the belief they can consistently extract the good version of Kellen. His peak play is elite but when he’s bad he’s benched level bad.

While Parsons makes me nervous from a character standpoint I do believe that DC is a straight shooter and all that culture/character talk was genuine. Therefore if we take Parsons I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Excluding QB, he and Sewell are the most uniquely talented prospects in the draft relative to their position.

I might put Pitts in there but otherwise I agree, it’s hard to pass on their talent.

Yeah, that one would be a waste of everyone’s time.

Agreed. Pitts skipped my mind. My sub conscious is fostering TE prospect amnesia. Defense mechanism I suppose.

I find it hard to believe Parsons will be BPA at 7. Draft is for value. QB, OT, WR (pass catcher), EDGE, CB only in top 10. That’s just me. I don’t mind the other picks. Not sure Moore will last that long though.

I’m ok with it until the 4th round pick.
