A “Duker” on defense … how fitting.
These are the coaches that live in a 600 sq. ft apartment 1/2 mile from Allen Park facility…and work 120 hr. weeks watching tape and making sure the coffee pot is full. Jim Schwartz talked about these days as a coach and I remember reading about Belichicks famous hours with the Lions and later Giants. This is the right-of-passage time for these unknown coaches. Some of these names (maybe Duker?) we’ll be talking about as coordinators and Head Coaches 10 or 15 years from now.
Just like college in a way. Some of the best years of their lives, before life gets complicated…
