New Fan Orientation

I think we need to add to this one and expand it. EVERY thread is a potential Matt Stafford vs Jared Goff thread. A spaghetti recipe thread can quickly turn into a Stafford vs Goff thread. So everyone should be on high alert that any thread containing an easy segway such as talking about QBs will sink even quicker.

Haha excellent quote/analogy!

In a weird way kinda sums up being a lions fan, if you think about it… …

Welcome!

I just want to add that if you see the term SOL it doesn’t mean shit out of luck.

It means Same Old Lions.

Trust me I am used to a bumpy ride. I could deal with losing but what they did this offseason was just beyond a bad football move. I just knew I would never be able to enjoy the team winning

Browns have been my AFC team for forever. Its been a brutal ride in the NFL for me, lol.

I hope we didn’t scare you off with all the info in this thread. You came to the right place for lions fans… consider this a crash course in lions history!

Here’s the thing Toronto… generally this board is about girls bitching at others girls… it often turns into a cat fight between posters who have to bitch slap other posters who don’t agree with their lame opinion. NOT, that that should deter you… just don’t be afraid to bitch slap the Goff haters… lol … or anyone else for that matter.

Welcome, homie. Parry Sounder here but grew up in Windsor. You picked a great time to be a Lions fan, you missed out on 60 years of shittiness! Although the way things are gfoing it’s looking like TO might have an NFL team in the next 5 years or so.

Thanks for the good info. I knew about Willie and Martha. I didn’t realize the connection between Willie and Ralph Wilson. I knew he still lived in Gross Pointe Shores but I didn’t know they were that close.

I am normally against switching teams, I never thought I would do that but the Browns went too far.

Browns to the Lions: not sure why an individual would insist on so much self inflicted pain, but welcome nonetheless… Great to have fresh takes on here. How’s your pretzel tossing?

I went searching for ā€œLions Fan Forumā€ and this was the most active one so I figured I’d start here.

couple of fantastic ideas…

  1. when you make pulled pork w/bbq sauce in it…use the leftover meat for your spaghetti sauce. The combination of flavors of bbq with marinara Is other world…an the texture of the pork with the noodles is aaaahhhhmayzhing
  2. pork chunks with mushrooms. It is a trick to get the pork chops right, cuz texture an overcooking can happen very, very easily. Ya gotta get 'em just right. Inject it w/some fresh mushrooms → BOOM! get your sauce to liking.

Welcome Toronto.

Justin Rogers is really tied in and what he says carry’s a lot of weight. @Mr.Peabody is correct, as usual, that Dave Birkett is tied into the lions…although that has shifted a little since his hit piece in regarding the lions handling of Tyrell Crosby. A lot of coaches were ā€œWtf Daveā€ when that article came out. Jeff Risdon is very tied in as well……he had a hilarious take the other week right before tday where he said James Houston would see an NFL snap……he has been dunking on himself for 2 weeks….gotta have a sense of humor. Nick baumgardner from the athletic is really good. Keyle Mienke from MLIVE. Pride of Detroit is okay……not a lot of original content although Erik Schlitt is awesome and really good. Pat McAfee show is a good one to follow ā€œfoxyā€ is a huge lions fan and Pat loves MCDC so they talk about them a lot and it’s typically all very pro Detroit. Chris Simms is another national pundit who usually has fair and positive things to say about the lions. Detroit Lions Podcast is on point. Jim costa on twitter is a really good one as well.

The Browns were my second team during the Dawg Pound years with Kosar, Byner-Mack, Dixon-Minnifield, etc., but when they moved to Baltimore, I lost interest and haven’t rooted for them since.

Two good sites
