Exactly. You can pretty safely say why every team won’t win the Super Bowl and be right.

There are a handful (5-8?) of teams who are legit Super Bowl contenders without needing a bunch of lucky breaks. There is another handful (3-5) who, with a fair bit of luck, could find themselves in that same mix.

We’re in the first handful. There’s no way to predict beyond that.

I’m not sure why you’d both want to be on a Lions board in the offseason and searching for bad news about the team. That seems like an unhappy life to me.

Braylen Edwards is arguing just like we do here about the value of one year all-in shoves for the Super Bowl versus the more measured approach of sustained excellence with a chance each year to win the Super Bowl.

He makes for good radio/TV. He’s locked into his opinion and tries to herd sheep into believing that a multi-year strategy to win the Super Bowl means the Lions/Shiela don’t want to win the Super Bowl. Bravo, Braylon. You’re doing your radio job. Making football relevant in June is hard.

But I don’t agree with you.

The NFL Truth Nobody Wants to Admit: Building Like the Lions Works More Than Going All-In

The proof will be in the pudding! There’s no excuse (coaching, players, scheme, schedule etc.) for the Lions to not get to the Super Bowl this year, period!!!

it literally makes me cringe, in both a physical and spiritual sense

This guy is a Den poster? I watch his videos all the time and it would be great if he did post here.

I have no idea what I meant by that. Anyone can have an off day… :person_shrugging:

No worries my man. My whole day was on off day

Blah, blah, blah!

Only one team is going to win the Superbowl. It’s pretty easy to be right.

Predict the winner, if you want to puff your chest out.

This is the same “ALL PRO” who walked off the live set during the 23 draft because of the first 3 selections. Look he is a Michigan Man, he had 1 phenomenal all pro season and that’s where it ends with Braylen. Also not shocked at who posted this to the den. Anything from WWS needs to be scrutinized to an extreme before posting. It’s like posting BR clickbait or those “pistonspowered” etc clickbait articles.

So let me say this.

I do not disagree on some level with this concept.

But I would take it in a slightly different direction.

And let me state now that these are just my opinions. No one really cares and for sure none of our sparts teams leadership are interested i n my take.

Lions
Positives:

  • great culture build
  • great IMO roster build
  • I question how desperate they truly are to win it all based on the coaching hires. From the beginning MCDC was a risky hire when you could have had his mentor but it would have been expensive (a sign they are still cheap).
  • I question not rolling out the brinx truck for Flores because he had a number and you passed (again cheap over pursuit of winning IMO).
  • I love what they have done but I am just not sure they are desperate to win. And this is only based on the approach to staff, the player stuff makes sense rarely do these high price tag signings do much

Tigers

  • They went out and got a proven HC who was only willing to come here because he was damaged goods. A sign that they wanted to win The roster build in baseball is tough but they have done well.
  • I do not care about signing Skubal. The Tigers can not afford to roll that much money into a player and then have that player not perform. It is too risky. Until MLB changes the salary cap this is a problem.
    Red Wings
  • They went out and hire what appeared at the time to be one of the best GMs available. I am not sure why it has not gone better other than they were so devoid of talent in org that it has been tough to build it back up.
  • I do not follow hockey that closely so I am not sure where things have gone South
    Pistons
  • They appear to have done a ton of the right things. Again not much to complain about IMO.

But I 100% can see where one can take the approach on how the Lions are right now. Not so much on the roster and FA players but with the coaching staff. They have seemed to go cheap instead of being bold and bringing in proven performers.

It is actually kind of funny. People are pissed because the Lions are not paying to bring in proven performing players but are OK with cheap MEH coaching hires.

Truthfully, if MCDC cared as much about Defense as he does Offense then Shep would be gone. He has absolutely proven that if the OC is not performing he will yank them after 4-8 games. And this was even when the Lions where in a rebuild. Change my mind on this topic. Explain to me that MCDC is holding the DC to the same level of accountability as he holds the OCs.

exactly. 31 teams won’t win it, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the Carolina panthers won’t win the Super Bowl either!

Woodward sports is garbage

Carolina has actually been to a super bowl tho

I don’t think the Chiefs are going to win it in 2027.

Write it down. I’m a football prophet.
