32 year old WR with 2 serious injuries in the past few seasons. I think he comes back pretty cheap. Plus if he wants to win…Detroit is the place to be.
Broncos tried to trade him and couldn’t even get a 7th rounder in August so they released him.

Brother, I was emphasizing the need for one good one. I don’t actually want 3! Sorry for confusion.
We are on same page mostly and I would even sign Davenport to incentive based deal again. It’s high risk high reward but if he’s healthy we are stellar.
I’m aligned with OL but do believe DE takes priority if we bring back same guys on OL next year. Same guys at DE next year is still one talented guy short IMO.
Edit to add that even at full strength to start year I still think we showed inconsistent pressure. Basically you stop hutch and you are in decent shape. Stop hutch and McNeil and you are golden. I want MORE PRESSURE BABY.
One thing I would like to get is a backup coverage LB.
Honestly if we just drafted and only added quality players to O line and D line I would say the rest could be stopgapped in free agency.
Might want to switch that out for something else. Apparently that causes cancer. Wouldn’t want our coach losing his balls. Been using Maty’s multipurpose ointment lately for the baby and it’s worked great. Little more expensive, but can you really put a price on success?
I think it’s pretty important actually. Everyone saw how improved the D was when Anzalone got back and our LBs could no longer be picked apart. My favorite option is Teddye Buchanan, but there are some other guys too.
what about LB?
Depends on the injured guys. Both Barnes and Rodrigo had knee surgery. Barnes is a free agent too. If they are both back and cleared medically, we are stacked at linebacker. If Barnes walks, and Rodrigo has any setbacks in recovery, then linebacker could be a possibility.
Both Barnes
I like Rodrigo, but Barnes is one on my most -loved players-love to keep him.
I don’t agree with CB being a long term need when they just drafted two with their top two picks. EDGE yes, OG and C most definitely, DT not necessarily, WR I suppose can’t have enough of those but not an immediate need. The Lions have very few need short and long term tbh. Offensive line is probably the biggest long term need.

I think the thought process is that Davis would be lost in FA.
Rakestraw is the future at the NB and Amik is a FA after next year.
So you’re technically down a starting outside LBer and a quality backup.
Most teams carry 6 good LBers.
Please don’t tell me you like Vildor?
I’ll re-post it, but really, Davicus does a much nicer job in this thread, too.
The players on the left side are under contract next year.
The players on the right are free agents (some restricted, some not, some exclusive rights).
We have threads talking about next year’s needs without settling who’s returning. A lot of people assume a lot of different things. (not in a bad way, just that we all have our own expectations of who’s gonna be back or not).
