Fun times.
Good thing we have the NFL’s toughest team.
You know Dan Campbell loves this. The nfl just gave him everything he needs to kick ass this season!
Not that I doubt the Lions can handle it but the schedule is absurdly tough, one of the toughest I’ve ever seen.
Outside of playing in arguably the toughest division in the league, they’re facing the Chiefs, Eagles, Ravens on the road (arguably the 3 best teams in the league along with the Lions and Bills), the Commanders who knocked them out last year, the Rams who almost beat the SB champs and the Bengals who might have the best offense in the league. That road schedule is as hard as it gets.
Home schedule is friendlier with the Browns, Giants and Steelers but the Bucs and Cowboys with a healthy Dak should be pretty good teams. Every team on the schedule outside of the Browns and Giants should be contenders for a playoff spot at the least. Huge challenge for the Lions to maintain their stranglehold on the division. Of course they’re capable of beating anybody but that schedule is pure hell.
I know it doesn’t work this way, but sort of feels like this could light a fire under Brad to get a deal done for Hendrickson.
Gonna make that SB run even sweeter!
You may think this is crazy and me having some fun homer bravado, but I am going to be serious here. We aren’t going to go undefeated on the road with that schedule, but I actually prefer those tough games on the road. I feel like to an extent, the Lions play harder on the road than they do at home. I think they like the challenge of going into an opposing team’s stadium and punching the nose. I’ll also add that since we’ve gotten so much better, the Lions fan invasions of other stadiums is very real. I can’t wait for the Lions to come back to Arrowhead, see that stadium taken over by 30% of my closest Honolulu Blue and Silver friends, then have us migrate down to behind the visitors bench as the Chief fans clear out and let us celebrate like its 2023 all over again.
Tom Grossi was making a big deal about the Packers playing their first season opener at home since 2018, and opening against the Lions. Unfortunately for Tom, that means the Packers are opening the season on the road again, this time at Ford Field West.
The Cowboys are not a good team. I think they will be battling the Giants for last in that division and there is a decent chance they take the spot. The Cowboys defense is terrible, their offensive line is terrible, and Dak will for sure miss more time as his body is giving out on him. Everyone is drooling over CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but we all know Pickens is an absolute cancer. Those two are going to be fighting each other over targets, Pickens will be fighting everyone period, Jerruh is going to wait until kickoff of the season opener to announce he has given all of the money to Parsons and Dallas will be out of cap space and unable to keep any depth.
The Lions for sure have a hard schedule, but I like it. I want this team to be battle tested. I want this team to get potential warts exposed, let the new kids get some more seasoning against real competiton and accelerate the growth process. As has been said on the board already, every team that has the Lions on their schedule is also thinking “Man, we’ve got a rough game coming up, and don’t forget about that Blue Flu shit from the past couple years. It’s real!”
Rams supposedly looking at bringing Ramsey back and he just resigned for like 3 years 72 million. Any team wanting him will have to wait until after June 1st for cap reasons. The Lions can make it happen with Hendrickson if they want to. And I don’t care what the team says we don’t have a proven playoff type pass rush outside of Hutchinson. I love this team but dammit I want Hendrickson opposite Hutchinson!!! Haha!
The weird thing about the NFL is there’s always a few good teams that fall off for a year or two and a few crappy teams that pull it together for a year or two.
No matter which way you slice it this schedule is tough but it will be fun to see how it plays out.
Bengals won’t trade him.
For the first time in my life as a Lions fan, I see this as a good thing rather than a bad thing.
Ehhh. 3rd or 4th toughest.
Teams like the Rams and the Eagles would beat the breaks off the Lions. Teams that actually know how to get down and get it done.
I don’t see how this is a “hard” schedule.

Oh please. Dan Campbell would beat the breaks off of pretty boy Mcvay.
Cowboys are doo doo
Well, last two years they haven’t proved that on the field but it definitely sounds good on the board.
Granted tough battles both but Lions won, anything can happen 12/14.
Not ignoring the 2021 game, as definitely you would/did but not the same team as the last two years. Simply from Campbell and Holmes not fully integrated at that point.
I think the Lions proved it last year with 16 defenders on IR and still winning 15 games.
That’s grit amigo. The Eagles are very fortunate they didn’t have to meet a reasonably healthy Lions team last playoff.
The Lions ARE the toughest team IMO.
I look at that schedule and think, “yep, the NFL still hates us.”
9 road games. 5 against playoff teams (outside the division). So, 7 of 9 playoff teams on the road, and the top 3 teams!
8 home games, 1 against a playoff team (outside the division).
Baltimore in Baltimore, again.
4 days between the Giants and Packers.
Our schedule is harder than the Eagles. WTF!
10-7.
you know i’ve had those thoughts too but then I honestly didn’t know he was 30 already. I’d bet we don’t want to sell things out for that. 30 is such a tricky time. Is that the edge of the cliff?
This will be the opposite of last year
We might go 11-6 or 12-5 regular season
But we will battle tested and ready come playoff time.
I’d rather make our run late rather than early
