NFL Passes Proposal To Expand Player Contact During Legal Tampering Period

Starting next year, though, teams will have expanded contact with prospective signings.

Ahead of league meetings in Florida this week, the Steelers proposed a rule change allowing teams to conduct phone or video calls directly with players during the legal tampering period. That proposal was approved, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. Starting in 2026, teams can have one call with up to five unrestricted free agents during the legal tampering period.

The new rule also allows teams to make travel arrangements for players that agree to terms

One phone call…

sounds like jail rules… :open_mouth:

Its all BS anyway.
Its a fair rule for sure. I think its dumb “player X signed with Y team” but the player cant contact the team for 2 days? Makes no sense.

But tampering is a grey area anyway.

Aint no way some of these players and team worked out deals in a matter of minutes after the window opens.

Good luck tracking that lol :joy:
