Wow, just ran that through according to what I think is likely to happen.
We’re out of the playoffs, but have the chance to play spoiler vs Chicago. If we lose, both GB and Chicago are in. If we win, Chicago misses the playoffs at 11-6 and Dallas & GB make it at 11-5-1.
We’re a different team than 2022. Don’t know if we could muster the drive necessary to win a meaningless game. Our eyes are on the big prize, beating BJ and the Bears (can’t believe I’m just now typing that) just won’t be a reward that beating the Packers in 2022 was.

I think the NFL script writers are going with the “zero to hero” story arch this year.
- Ben Johnson leaves the 15-2 Lions for a job with the Rival Chicago Bears
- Ben starts 0-2 after giving up 52 points in his reunion back to Detroit in week 2. Crowd boo’d him, Lions internet fans mocked him. 52 points was Dan making a statement, that Ben didn’t care to hear.
- Following the Lions loss, Ben rattles off 9 wins in the next 10 games and sits at the top of the division.
- Week 18, Ben gets his 52 point payback by beating Dan in front of his home fans and lifting up the NFCN division title.
That handshake for Dan Campbell following a loss to Ben Johnson, and a loss of the division title, will ignite a fire in MCDC that will go scorched f*#cking earth on the NFL in 2026. The Incredible Hulk moment, on a cold January afternoon.
