@BigNatty makes me proud. I’d be willing to bet jamo good money I’ve been balder longer than @BigNatty
I could not remember the name of that to save my life.
You ain’t right.
Except that NGS does factor in “forearm size”. NGS is essentially a version of my Knee Cap Score that takes both college production and athletic profiles into consideration:
I really find this funny. The link? Nawww
The piss off GMs on this board, always willing to tell someone how wrong they are.
Now that’s priceless!

This is impossible. Not enough non-NFL personnel don’t like the draft so clearly the NFL guys don’t know squat. Brad Holmes is an idiot and should promptly be fired. Promptly.

And ignoring it is how we ended up with Eric Ebron over Aaron Donald.
Both sides of this argument can come up with hundreds of examples of a low/high value player being a better pick than a subsequent high/low value player. Everyone always has an example to back up their point. It’s about what happens over the long haul. We want to be the house, making millions with our 1% advantage.
I think there is a non-zero chance that we added 6 eventual starter in this draft. Given the strength of our roster that’s excellent. We did of course start with a very stacked deck.
I’d be quite happy w/four average-to-above-average starters. Maybe 2-3 who can, in time, get into pro bowl conversations. That and a backup QB and rotational nose tackle. From a thin class we did well!
I expect Campbell, Gibbs and LaPorta to all start next year. Gibbs may not technically start but will still be the most featured RB. He will start eventually IMO. Branch will likely start in 2024. Then you have Hooker and Martin.
my football team won district in 1998. I let them shave my head & never grew hair again!
It literally says “Next Gen Stats” at the bottom of that picture.
Thanks for the post!
Read a quote somewhere that said something along the lines of “The Lions first five picks were all guys who could have been taken at #18.” I’d say that is solid.
I actually like our draft a good bit so not trying to be a Debbie downer when a say this.
The fact that we had our first 5 picks in the top 68 is the main reason we are showing up at #1. I would have to double check, but I am pretty confident in saying no other team had 5 picks in the top 68.
Which means exactly what?
Looking at that top 5, I feel like every single one had a good to great draft for now and their future.
